Whats up guys, I currently live in Rochester and will be moving up to Buffalo in the next few weeks. I will be living in the new lofts called Holling Place on washington st and was looking for people’s opinions based on the area and fun stuff to do in the area? Thanks
It depends what you like to do, you are within walking distance of the bars downtown, and the arena/ballpark.
Those apartments are within walking distance of a catholic charities, and a couple welfare offices. Every time I walk by that apartment, I think to myself who would want to live on Washington downtown.
Especially after dark, I wouldn’t want to park any decent car there that was not gated. The parking for holling place is right next door, and it is not gated.
You are right next to Club Diablo, its a pretty fun bar. A few years back, I would go there about once a month. Its a pretty fucking sketchy area for sure…
Make sure your car insurance is up to the task of break in’s…
It’s not that bad. I had friends who lived there and their only complaint was the ‘thin’ walls. You’re very close to Thursday in the Square which, if you don’t already know what it is, you’ll find out soon enough when the streets get packed.

Thin walls, dorm like atmosphere in the hallways… creppy people outside your building and no dedicated/secure parking are the biggest complaints…
and that its rent controlled so you need to make UNDER a certain amount to live there (like 32k)
most of the lofts downtown except for the elk terminal have thin wall syndrome, i lived DT for 2 years… in 2 differant places but knew tons of other people who lived down there and they all said the same thing…
the oak school isnt bad, but its an old school and parking is imiited
I can deal with the thin walls but the sketchy area definitely scares me abit…Looks like i will have to do some testing to see how far my two way alarm remote still will talk to the car 
just in case someone gets alil frisky with it!

your car WILL be broken in to down there… TRUST me… its not a question of if, its when… your alarm only tells you its already happened… they dont give a shit
