And that includes STAR. And assessed values…Hah! Values have gone down, but the assessor is keeping to 2007 values to keep the tax revenues up.
So do you hang out with Blue Eyed Devil at all? lol sounds like you 2 may have some things in common.

nope. but the way you say that makes me think that’s not a good thing.

Fry how’d you swing a 58k assessment?
5600, includes garbage and village electric
house is 1900 sqft on a .5 acre valued @ 150k
The place hasn’t been reassessed since the 80’s. :gotme: Tonawanda’s got a slick little real property system thing that shows a ton of stats on every house in the town and it lists my market value at $113k.
~$1500 for me in Buffalo, however I’m about 1 block away from being in West Seneca. Same story as most here…my street is always plowed, no issues with garbage, etc. Only thing I’m not to sure about are the schools.
I’m amazed at how/why people live in areas with such high taxes…
Property taxes up here kill me. It’s fucking ridiculous, IMO. We’ve got a modest 1600 sq. ft. house on an 11k sq.ft. lot in the town of Lockport, and pay $4400/year. Yeah, Starpoint school district is damn good, the area is safe, yadda yadda yadda.
However, I owned a 1600 sq.ft. house in a nice subdivision on 1.5 acres just South of Knoxville, TN. My total tax bill there? In 1998, it was $204…PER YEAR. Yes, read that again.
Are my services 21.5 times better where I live now? Is the school 21.5x better? Am I 21.5x safer? No. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t measure any single item that is even 3-4x better here than it was there.
FWIW, I looked up the most recent info on Zillow:
Last sale: $139,500
'07 property tax: $392
IMO, this shit borders on criminal, and yes, we’ll be moving once the kids are college age.
LOL how was your house assessed for 107k on G.I.?It’s only at a 58% or so rate. You should have the new people look into it.That house I sold on the other side of the island was 2,500 sq ft and was only assessed at 70k.
D
LOL on a side note Weaver’s new 5,200 sq ft, 8 car garage, waterfront monster is assessed at 252k or so:)
