Homedepot Hacked

Cash only, you can’t burn debit cards for heat.

I’d prefer to use NFC and use my Google Wallet account on my phone.

Well wait for the next iPhone with NFC and watch for mass adoption of NFC

^Right? 7-11 just got rid of all theirs, but I think they had them disable anyway. I paid for Burger King once with my phone and the lady behind the counter was like…amazed. It seems like a much more secure method of payment.

You think it’s finally going to be in the iPhone 6?

They’re going bigger screen size, no reason to say “no room”

Rumors are out and about that NFC is coming. RFID industry insiders were predicting we would see it with the iPhone 5s, because obviously it’s a big deal to the RFID industry.

Does anyone know how restaurants handle chip and pin? I’m curious. That’s the only brick and mortar type place where I’ve had my card info stolen.

56 million credit and debit cards stolen

Largest retail breach ever

More technical

Last week we got our first credit union call about it. Visa released their first “affected cards” batch so we took that file and created a little program to loop through, deactivate those cards and spit out a letter that the CU could mail to the customer.

Didn’t click lz links, but I heard it was an OLD xp vuln?

So when do we start holding these companies liable for securely using our credit cards?

That is tough they probably met PCI(payment card industry requirements) for processing credit cards securely.

Personally while its annoying having a credit card stolen isn’t a huge deal and the banks really hold all the liability for fraudulent charges.

Well that is until chip and pin and then you’re gonna get fucked on the liability but that is another issue lol

They can just type a bunch of 0’s and cover the loss, no biggie. I love the “we sell hammers” quote. hahaha
