The tax bill has all ready gone out for this year and you will owe what is due in full. You will pay for it in escrow. As next year rolls around and if you have put in your application, then you will receive it. I got screwed last year when I bought my house in July… it was too late. I believe the deadline is in March.

FYI, I received my Rebate Application in the mail today.

While the majority of New York State homeowners will automatically receive their rebate checks this year
without having to apply, you must apply because:
• you did not apply for the program in 2007, or
• you applied in 2007, but did not receive a rebate check, or
• even if you applied in the past, assessment roll information reported to us about your property or your
STAR exemption has changed

sweet. I got my house in April and got my STAR info in just before the deadline, so I’m hoping I’ll be getting a check in the mail soon. That would be AWESOME

just got my application in the mail today also. i’ll be applying online later tonight

this is seperate from the actual STAR program. you’ll still have to apply for the rebate check.

Just finished applying for mine online. Looks like they are using 2006 income tax information, that might be a plus for some of you if you made less then.
