Curious as to why you’re caging a DD? Do you race with it all?

i plan on racing it on some road coarses this year but the main reason is because i wanted to.

With that response, I’m not going to rehash the whole caging a DD is absurdly unsafe…but you have some clear issues with the structure. The forward hoops are very poorly designed, and not nearly as sturdy as they should be, they don’t appear to be able to withstand a rollover. Most of the instructors (which you’ll be required to have for your first several track sessions) would not sit in something designed like that. I’ve watched that happen a few times… Secondly, the instructor must have the same harness and seating arrangement as the driver. That means no bucket and 5pt for you and stock seat for them. My car is built for the track and never sees the street, but I had to follow the very same rules as you will. What tracks do you plan on driving?

I don’t know what tracks you plan on driving but there are definitely instructor requirements for every track I’ve ever driven, period.

As for the cage, who cares how the company makes it, you bought it and safety is safety…and you don’t screw with that. When you step on track I suggest you leave your ego behind. The point is you are doing something for a street car that is unequivocally dangerous.

nice car and great build , some people are jealous and some just think they know everything , its your car you build it how you want , not sayin people on here dont know anything , J and Eric from hybrid both know their shit big time. and as far as autocross and road racing steve knows his shit also , but alot of these people sit on honda-tech and read and all of a sudden think they know everything. ignore what people say and do your own thing. cant wait to see more!!! take more pics!!!
