My first two events ever were on stock rubber, the next two events were on a set of used Azenis, after that I got a set of R-comp Hoosiers and I’m glad I did. More grip = faster. If you are trying to win don’t bother screwing around with street tires, you’ll just have to relearn your car again when you switch to the race tires. I do agree with fairgentleman Z in that you should buy and practice on used tires and save the new ones for important races.
I’ve been running the R-comp Hoosiers since last year (not the A6’s). Also I’ve never used the A6’s so I cant compare them directly. They seem to wear pretty well and they like heat… the oposite of what I’ve heard about the A6’s. They also have a decent amount of grip, I’ll probably switch to the A6’s when I get the money but untill then I’m happy with these.
