Most people looking at KIA’s won’t mind the lack of performance. If the car looks decent, have decent mpg and interior features and is cheaper than the competition, thats what attracted them.

i’d rather get 2k more and get this :ninja

youtu.be/Qlqcii9Jicc

vr6 3.6l, 280hp(highest in it’s class), DSG tansmission, 0-60 in 6.5 sec

these cars are both considered the same class of car… fyi

6 more hp from a 1.2 liter bigger v6? Doesnt sound that impressive.

Turbo vs. N/a.

I drove the Optima. Impressive for a Kia, but it is still kinda cheap on the inside

I liked the new kias … was thinking about getting it but payments were still a little to high for me .

They’re pretty cool looking but the passat would be my pick.

bingo. I don’t think they’ll be winning anyone over with this. Not to mention there is a lot more to performance than hp and some of that has to be proven over time.

It’s a 4gt from mitsu in em

agreed i do like passats!! i wouldnt mind owning one

If I was in the market for a car in this segment Id pick the Optima hands down. The Passat may be a better performer but it looks like shit.

what’s the point of this car ? I bet u it takes turns all wavy and shit .not really a big deal

just watched the video base model was way to close and sometimes better than the turbo lololplololplpol

the problem is all these cars suck to most of us, cause we are born to hate this segment of car being a gearhead. but to be honest, after driving all these cars over the past few months really all of them are so loaded with options, and so aggressively priced. it’s just amazing what value for dollar you can get.

it probably why they sell 350,000 cars in this segment every year in this country (not counting commercial)

Exactly. for the market they’re designed for, they fit the bill perfectly. If you’re looking for a decent car to buy that get’s good MPGs, ha a little balls, and one you’ll just ride out the warranty and sell off after ~6-7years how can you go wrong with it.

If you’re looking for good performance there’s a handful of porsche/bmw/etc dealers withing 150miles…

oh yeah don’t get me wrong, I agree that nowadays with most of the new car market that pretty much whatever you buy… its going to be good for the money… the competition is tight and I actually like american cars again.

BUT with this actual car I think the power just goes to waste and wtf is up with the 1/4 time? LOL thing took off like it was in 3rd gear

lol noticed that to, i would be it has something to do with kia not wanting to burn up clutch packs made out of tissue paper and paper clips… kind of like a torque control system

thats pretty cool, how about just offering the car with less hp then :lol

lol… it’s like the muscle car wars back in the 60’s and 70’s… you need to be in the pack with everyone else when it comes to a cars specs. if they offered there top motor with only 250hp it wouldn’t bring in as many conquest buyers from other groups

it’s a necessary evil
