Its the ones on the bottem of the exaust manifold, and its got thread on both side with a small spot in the middle where it actually passes threw the mainfold, Now i can get it to bite the hole but i have no idea how to tightin it.
Also Is it the long end or the short end that goes in the block.
When you bolt in the stud by hand into the manifold you don’t have to tighten it in there because when you tighen the TURBO onto the manifold it will create tension on the manifold side as well and will not move.
Basically just put in the studs by hand, tighten them down on the turbo and it will create tension on both sides and will hold everything well.
You should be tightening them in. Use the double nut technique. Put two on the same side of the stud, jam them against each other. Then tighten the stud it, unjam the nuts and you are good to go. Some times the stud HAS to stay behind or you can’t get things apart later from clearance issues. Yes, tightening them in by hand will work, but when it comes time to remove what they hold it might be a PITA.
