How do I remove my car alarm?

It’s been acting up really strangely for a while, but since I havent been driving the 240, I haven’t done anything about it.

Symptom: It will go off for absolutely no reason, even when it’s not alarmed

I’ve had the alarm for a few years, and i’ve decided that I just want to take it out. I helped a buddy of mine remove if from my '88 celica GTS a year ago, and it was pretty simple, but I don’t want to forget anything?

Anybody have any info/advice on removing it? It’s in an '89 240sx right now.

Thanks

Landon A.

Join the wires that have been cut for starter interrupt and just cut all of the other wires where they join, such as pinswitches.

What I did, was follow all the wires from the main “brain” of the alarm. It’s a blck box, it’s hard to miss. Follow 1 wire at a time. When you see where it goes, remove it. HOWEVER, if you come to a wire that is tapped into a stock wire, for example in the steering column, cut it off, then solder the wire back together.

Personally, if your not sure, take it in somewhere. You don’t want to be fuckin with wires if you don’t know what they do.
