Mysterious start problem.

So i go to a resteraunt, eat, come out and my car wont start. Everything powers on, my stereo runs great for 5 mins with no death. There is no crank, click, nothing. I am going to search after i post this as i believe it could be 1 of 3 things i guess, but i wanna know one thing that i doubt i will find in the search.

My car alarm is equipped with a kill switch. when the alarm is active i get the same results as i get right now. I turned my alarm off and on repeatedly trying to get it to disengage. I bought the car with the stereo and alarm in it so i dont wanna go ripping wires out. So my question is this: is there a way i can deactivate my alarm so this kill switch idea goes away and can be taken out of the loop? I would hate to rip out my starter, plugs, wires, distributer, etc. to find out it was my alarm all along.

My car ran like it would every other day, nothing different at all. So i’m really really stuck. help would be very appreciated as i am not exactly one for electrical stuff.

update Got it decked to my house, goofed around with wires, it started, now it wont start back up again tho.

well i gave up for the night and came back this morning and it started up no prob. Haven’t driven it, but i’m sure it will shut off and not start again.
Nothing was pulled apart or messed around with after it didnt start the second time.

So if nothing was touched to fix the problem, what would cause that? I’m still betting on my alarm, but more insight wouuld be great

I have limited experience with wiring alarms into cars, but when I removed the alarm from my car after I bought it, I ran across not being able to start it because I messed iwth the wires. My alarm was set up so that the signal going to the starter was interupted by the box. I could pull the wires off the box and connect the spade connectors together.

But it soulds like you have a loose connection in this area. Check all the connections going to the alarm box and the steering column that have been modified.
