ima switching my steering wheel how do i do it lol
Gently?? lol
I gotta do mine too!! I know ya need spacers if the one you bought didn’t come with them.
That center blob of plastic that you puch on to activate the horn? That is cliped on, so you can just pull from the bottom gently.
Then unscrew the screws under the steering column to open the column up. Then undo the ignition key border, and the signal light switch border.
Then take an extension and wratchet of proper size and unbolt the big bolt in the center.
Then undo the plastic trim behind the wheel with the 4 screws in each corner, the hub should be pluged in for the horn and hicas.
The majority should be off now, and that was just off the top of my head, so sorry if I forgot anything.
Aaron
umm cant seem to do it
ummm its an s13 and steering wheel does want to come off!!
pull and pull …
What doesn’t want to come off? You have the bolt off and it doesn’t want to budge? You need to pry a little bit. It’s kinda been on there for 12 years, so it won’t want to just fall off.
You need a steering wheel puller.
just keep at it …after a while you will get mad enough to pull it right off … as sil_eighty abotu taking off steering wheels from 240sx and pulsars
ahhaha… it fits very tightly on the spline, tollerance must be with-in +.002 of an inch
keep your arms stright, wiggle your toreso back and forth while pulling towards you
(key is to keep arms straight)
best i can do…or at the next meeting someone can do it for you
I agree Mark. I’ve pulled the wheels off all three of my S13s. One I pulled off a few times,it gets easier every time. All it takes is muscle.
thx boys got it off thx again for all ur help
Anytime
it doesnt take muscle …its technique
Scott, I guess if you managed to pull a wheel off, I’d assume it was due to technique.
indeed …that is what I am talking about
Something I have always wondered is with the s13 you have buttons on the steering wheel for the cruise control if you want to keep it what happens to them??
Usually people place the buttons, next the vent or other buttons close to the steering wheel. I haven’t seen it done in along time. But on freshalloy somebody should have a picture.
