He’s a teacher, so I’m assuming the certifications are a step above “just” being a teacher.
I finished the apprenticeship for residential wireman (electrician).
I’m now in as an inside journeyman apprentice which is the commercial/industrial equivalent. Still with Electrical Service & Systems Installations (ESSI) and IBEW Local 41.
Better career path. More work, better pay, beefy pension.

It will be 14 years come October that I’ve been working for the same company. Still sitting in front of a computer designing insulation covers.

It was 27 years for me on 6-15-2014. It only seems like 25 years.
I’m 33 so it feels like I’ve been here my whole life.
Worked for HP then Agilent Technologies for many years. Took an early retirement and started my own shop. Got tired of working as a number for a large corporation. Working on cars and more importantly for myself is much better.
I am 45 so it has been well more than half of my life. Woah.
All I am picturing is porn stache dude from Orange is the New Black.
