Why because another company is purchasing them? I doubt it would be any worse then their standard practices from before
Everyone ive ever met that just started working there talks about it like the greatest shit since sliced bread…almost like they all drank the juice. Then 6 months later when they’re at geico they talk about what a nightmare ingram was.
Ingram was by far the shittiest place I’ve ever worked.
I still blow people. 6 years running.
I believe the word you are looking for is “than” not then.
I would not want to work for a Chinese company. That is just my 2 cents.
Chao chi. La tsu tsung tsa.
Why not?
Maybe not for everyone, but I honestly don’t miss that place at all.
I work for a little family owned winery in Modesto, California.
That sounds like a great job.
I can understand why some people hate on Ingram. Like any job you do or career you have, a lot of times it comes down to the actual position and your day to day work, as well as who you work with. Not every position at large corporate companies is created equal. That being said, I’ve been there for over 4 years now and sure, every day is not a dream, but I genuinely enjoy what I do and who I work with 90% of the time. I also look at it as a great opportunity if you are into technology and want to be related to a pretty cool industry. It’s afforded me a lot of travel I would have otherwise not done, met great people, and setting myself up long term with the experience I need and enjoy. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but you don’t have to shit on the company as a whole.
As far as the China acquisition goes, Ingram will still be headquartered and based out of the U.S. and will no longer be a publicly traded company. I actually think this is an interesting move and am looking forward to the future, that is if I stay in distribution. Eventually I see myself branching out to a vendor though. I see a lot of chatter in the public that jobs are going to be outsourced to China due to this, but realistically the business will fail if that happens IMO. The people are what make Ingram go on a daily basis. Then again I could be wrong and be looking for a job in 6 months, but I’m not panicking.
I didn’t like the “LOOK WE BUILT A BOX WITH BOXES INSIDE YAY WERE AWESOME” attitude of the “campus”. That was an immediate turn off for me, but then the repetitive, mindless day to day tasks wore me down. My team wasn’t bad but without sounding cocky, I was way over qualified for my positions there. I came from teaching to sitting at a desk sending emails and getting pep talks from incompetent managers and vendor reps.
I’m sure there are great opportunities there, and I know that a few people on here love it and that’s great, but it was most certainly not the place I could’ve seen myself working at for more than a year.
It’s a revolving door company, like GEICO, and I have strong feelings about those types of jobs when we have a surplus of manufacturing and skilled labor positions available. Instead of catering to the college graduates who can’t find a job because their degree sucks notion, I’d rather support the learn a real skill/trade and pay off your student loans idea.
That’s just my biased and skewed opinion though, your results may very.
very what?
I think he means vary.
VERY CONFUCIOUS.
Fuck you guys!
