this. i hardly talked to anyone from my grad class at highschool, yet probably 90% of them have friend requested me.
i have around 270ish right now.
752 at the moment and a good portion of those people stretch around the world. I’ve met all of them with the exception of like 4. I don’t ‘unfriend’ people I just remove their BS from my newsfeed so it stops coming up. It’s good to keep them ‘friended’ in case I’m travelling near them and want to get in touch.
I keep my nerd friends on twitter.

I hate when people try to add you that you’ve never met. Yeah sure I went to the same high school as you but also graduated 4 years before you started there. We have never met. I ignore those requests. There’s a few from car sites that I have never met face to face but know from the internets. I’ve been weeding those out lately too.

i happen to like seeing pics of other people’s children on facebook. i don’t necessarily spend a lot of time reviewing those pics but it at least reminds me that i know people who are leading meaningful lives.
pet pics are different though, i get it, but not as a substitute for building a real family.
only thing that gets me to delete people is massive drama or outpouring of how terrible ones life is. I’ll respond for all their friends to see how stupid that is.
as for accepting friend requests, i have 9 unconfirmed and deleted a bunch of other ones… i’ll accept friends of friends if they’re into 240’s or drifting based on the assumption they will be buying parts from me eventually

1200 or something. if i don’t know the person, it’s probably someone from nyspeed. other than that, i don’t add random humans. and i try and delete people, but FB has made it so much harder lately. and then there’s some people who i feel bad about deleting, so i just unsubscribe. (like dorky kids from highschool and stuff.)

753… lots of people from dog/animal rescue groups who I like to keep in touch with though I’ve never actually met them. I tried to weed out some people a couple weeks ago, but Facebook doesn’t make it easy.
i don’t see the point in deleting people…
every now and again you have to reach out to someone you havent had contact with in 4 years and facebook makes it not only easy but not at all awkward.
moreover, i think we’ll be surprised with how many people were douchers in their teens that turn into pretty awesome people later in life that we’ll want to rekindle with. If you delete them that doesnt really happen as easily. I’m probably one of those douchers for other people and i can tell you that i spent like 5-7 years away from past close friends who now have families and we get together as often as we can now. Our wives connect via facebook so that men dont have to text or coordinate play dates via private message cause that shit’s gay
Yeah I agree, a lot of people I went to HS with ended up being good people when they grew up. I’ve been pleasantly surprised almost every time I’ve run into them.
