how much money and time does it take to do a h22 swap into a 6th gen?

I’m not so sure about that…cause then i wouldn’t be able to think how great it is to be driving around my car. IT WOULD BE TOO LOUD!!!

but atleast u would be driving it around for a change instead of it being towed on a flatbed

side exit ftw,

showtime lets see some pics!

:stupid:

Where’s your beast’s exhaust at? When I saw it down at Hybrid that day a couple of weeks ago it still wasn’t on.

why am I sooo confused???

fmfkid is trying to get you to dump the exhaust out the side of the car, which is the new hawtness. Showtime is rocking a side exit exhaust hard on his swapped hatch. Gearhead was, maybe still is, on his hatch as well. If my Accord didn’t have the cut out in the back I’d do it too. It’s like our own little h22/side exit cult thing.

I see…buuuuuuuuut I think I’m gonna pass…I hate cults :tounge:

Fuck stricfab(spelling) and fuck the guy u had working on it b4, i fee lfor u heather and i hope it works out wiht no probs for u!

Thanks Devin!!!:bigok: but I know I’m in good hands now. HA one day and the damn thing is running! WOO HOO

Yes u are in good hands! I just stopped down the shop today and mine is up and running…but it is only stock as of right now:mad: .

how the hell do you get rodahavers out of being a shop in the s hills?

uniontown != s hills

Well, as is no surprise, only a very limited portion of the story exists here. It was nice to read how this entire thread unfolded without ever having been made aware of it. Nice to see everyone shapes their opinions without knowing the other half of this SAGA. So since it’s time to air dirty laundry, let’s get the clothes pins.

  1. The car was brought to me as a CVT equipped HX, not simply an auto.

  2. The vehicle had mild front end damage.

  3. The work to be done as requested by Heather:

    1. Swap JDM H22 5speed into the car
    2. Install Skunk2 Springs
    3. Source and install all manual conversion parts
    4. Paint engine bay
    5. Manual tensioner conversion, source parts and install, replace timing belt.
    6. Custom fab seat rails to install 2000 Prelude seats.
    7. CTR folding mirror install and wire
    8. Tuck and hide entire wiring harness on motor, and remove all wiring visible for accesory lighting.
    9. Repair front end damage to rad support, as well as headlight and housing.
    10. Clean, prep, paint motor, trans, valve cover, intake mani.
    11. EGR block-off
    12. Fab full catback exhaust with HKS carbon Ti muffler
    13. Chip, reprog. ecu
    14. Some accessory business that simply adds up

Now, I sourced all the parts I could for Heather. The H22 was marked up, but purchased in a time when the price of the swap was high due to the conversion rate. I did profit on this swap, it is certainly my right to do so. I did though, give exceptional costs on other items, which more than make up for that initial cost of the swap.

Another factor in the amount of time and investment cost was, that this car was in a prior accident. The vehicle was repaired by Dean Honda. When the H22 was initially placed, the motor sat on a tilt with mounts binding. Referencing the frame chart in Helms, it was found that the strut towers were correct (36.7 inches I believe), but further up the frame rails that narrowed to 34.5 inches. Dean Honda didn’t even bolt the bumper support on, they welded it directly to the frame rails because the alignment was so far off.

This affected the orientation of the mount on the passenger rail. In addition, the mounting of the stock CVT tranny did not allow use of any mount kit available on the market to date. The CVT transmission uses a mount that sits high in front of the passener side strut tower. As a result, a custom mount had to be fabricated in order to use an aftermarket engine mount kit. Due to the improper frame repair by Honda, this mount needed to be remade in order to orient the motor to an “acceptable” position.

The front rad support was also pushed in from contact with a deer. The rad support and headlight bezel area needed extensive massage in order to return to stock (a repair done well enough that you obviously can’t detect it now). That damage alone would’ve cost 400-600 to any body shop.

The tensioner was replaced with all manual parts, engine bay primed and painted, wiring tucked and or hidden (all soldered/shrink tubed connections, all rewrapped), shift assembly installed (floor cut for assembly, any opened sections had metal replaced and tig welded), underbody sealed to prevent rust, all new shift cable equipment added. Shift assembly itself prepped, cleaned and painted. CTR mirrors installed, custom relay made to replicated JDM unit for proper function…(mirrors not finished because she took the car). Exhaust to be fully fabbed in 2.5". Alot more which I haven’t even thought of here.

Simply take into exception the amount of prep time, paint work, custom fab, etc. that went into the car. No shops locally would’ve even entertained doing that amount of prep work, adding tons of labor hours for the price of a basic H22 swap. I saw pics posted of the car elsewhere on the site and the responses to the bay were exceptionally positive.

Also, Heather knew going into this, that I am one person with limited space. I wasn’t a big baller shop with a work force. I worked on the car when able, and cut NO corners on the car. I put well over 350 hours into the car, and paid out substantially to part time help also.

If any of you in here can look simply at the list up top and say that you wouldn’t quote at LEAST what I did, if not more, then have a field day workin like a slave. Body repair, removal and install of the engine multiple times to mockup mounting, suspension install, complete auto to manual conversion, paint, prep, manual tensioner conversion, wiring, chipping, etc. That’s not worth what she paid? Gimme a f*ckin break. The fact that she took the car is not my fault, I had every intention of finishing, but towards the end money matters were complicated and we couldn’t see eye to eye. I wasn’t even asking for what she went and gave the idiots at Stric FAB to finish it. I simply needed misc. leftover crap.

Also keep in mind, that in her list of costs, she did get a high quality Grade A carbon hood, all manual conversion parts, axles, shift assembly, pedal assembly, misc. cables, paint supplies, DC Header, several new gaskets on the motor, metal costs, TIG costs, the swap itself, and shit loads more. 8-9k for all that installed is a rip off…yeah.

Heather…By ALL MEANS, take your friends advise and let’s hit the magistrates office. I have pictures and logs of all the work done, I’ll be more than happy to be a defendant.

Jay (Hybrid)…as far as your assessment of my wiring goes, understand that I made the obd conversion for the car, Stric FAB claimed though they didn’t have it (could have something to do with certain thieves they have working with them). However I chose to wire the swap (as far as pinout location goes) was entirely up to me, as I had control over converting pinout locations at the ecu. That’s the luxury I have by doing MY OWN harnesses, builds, fab, etc. versus outsourcing everything and being a simple middle man. It’s kind of like, if someone made an aftermarket harness for an MR2 with a 3SGTE, you might have actually finished that car. Since you were forced to face it yourselves…it sat there and rotted. All I saw on here, was you blaming the owner for it. Weren’t you the ones contracted to make it run? No need to explain though, it’s irrelevant here.

Also, keep in mind, I cannot vouch for whatever harness issues existed after the quacks at Stric-fab had their hands in it. I talked with the owner on the phone, and he proclaimed that I had added no injector resistor wiring, therefore broke into the harness to add it. I explained to him that I wired it into a 12v junction beneath the intake mani in order to keep it hidden. He just failed to know what the f*ck is going on.

My point is, don’t speak about my quality of work when you haven’t gotten it directly from me. I’ve worked on MANY cars sportin your stickers in the window, with wires weaved through brake lines, twist tied garbage, etc. Granted maybe that’s before you were involved, but regardless I’m not on here broadcasting it.

FMFKid…don’t even enter into this deal with your opinion. Your a little boy livin with your momma who blew up more motors in one year than years you’ve lived on this earth. How could you possibly tell what is over my head when you couldn’t even put a simple ass timing belt on properly on your boys GSR? Crushed his valves once from your expert install, then couldn’t make it run on the second go-around. What you couldn’t accomplish in two months, I had fixed in 30 minutes. You just were mad cause your boy called you first to state that fact right to you. Don’t be mad.

As far as your H23 goes, you were trying to sell a piece of shit with a rod knockin. With your past build history in my head, no way in hell was I gonna buy that garbage off of you for her car.

I have over 25 motors built and running in this area fully blueprinted and assembled by ME, done every swap common to Honda’s, wired them all myself, fabricate stainless custom turbo manifolds, TIG and MIG in house, produce custom carbon fiber parts and panels in house with wet layup and vacuum, have been using Crome/Turbo Edit and doing chip burns in house before you knew it existed, have a custom wideband setup made myself, done forced induction and nitrous injected motors from here to Uniontown…I forgot more than you have ever known. Keep reading on the internet and blowin up motors bud.

In closing, like most complicated situations, there is certainly two sides to every story. The true extent of the sitaution is beyond the scope of this thread, and isn’t going to be settled here either. I don’t expect anyone here to not take the side of the pretty girl with lots of friends, but look at the facts…it’s alot of work.

Throw in all the controversy with her family, and boyfriend at the time (Josh) and there is still TONS to this story. So simply stated, if Heather wants to go to court, that is certainly her American right. This thread though solves nothing, and if anyones goal here is to truly be objective then you’ll realize that a true fact based opinion can’t be simply drawn here.

Heather was, and honestly still is (in my opinion anyway) my friend. If I could go back I would certainly choose my friend Heather, over my business relation Heather. I started out being a friend to Heather and trying to get her away from her jackoff boyfriend (who was my friend for many years). I threw away that friend loyalty to him though, in order to help Heather. All I ever wanted, was for Heather to realize her vision with this car, things just got f*ckin complicated. It’s a hurtful enough situation to have lost her friendship, without everyone on here compounding the situation with their baseless opinions. She’s a big girl, she can deal with this whatever way she sees fit. She doesn’t need knights in shining armor to start defense threads for her to just stir shit up.

Okay so of course there are 2 stories to everything…you just always exagerate yours!!

First of all, Damian…we’re NOT friends…you burned that bridge along time ago!
Secondly…I had every part ever told to me I needed within a 6month time frame…which was 6months PRIOR to you taking in the car. And yes there were times you would contact me saying something else was needed…YOU GOT THE $ FROM ME WITHIN 24 hrs—(if ever there was a delay on parts it was because you never ordered them REMEMBER when I started getting them myself how quickly you had em" )
" 350 HOURS of LABOR" ----yeah my ass…350 hours of you playing with yourself…playing on the internet…drinking coffee for 5hrs each night at eat n’ park!

I have more to add…I just can 't think right now, I’m heated…I’ll add more on my break!

In bold I added to your list…

well this has certainly taken a turn for the interesting. :drama:

of course it has…Damian is great at what he does ( bs )…sucky thing is…he is famous for screwing others over, having owned 2 business that both sunk, moved a notorious amount of times to flee. Damian own up dude ( your one shady character )

And I in regards to your time and work and tears… SPARE me! You know exactly why the car never was done…YOUR LAZY…and the work you didnt do…I PAID FOR and never got a dime back.

Okay…I didn’t include the hood in that total…just parts I paid you for to get the car running…there is a large list of items I bought on my own- those I didn’t include in that total either( because there was a time I would give you $ and it would take you a month just to order them) In your list above are some of those items!

TIG cost??? on what exactly…
shit loads more of what…give me proof…
$3900.00 was paid to you for labor…on top of that I have a letter from you asking $1000.00 more even after your agreement with my Dad…and his $1200.00 that was overnighted to you. YOUR A JOKE!!

Be angry, that’s your right as a person. Fact is though, you drive around in the car I built 95% of, I suppose that accounts for nothing now.

Take your anger to a private venue like the courts though, don’t enflame the situation in public and involve others who have no involvement (if those here wants details of those proceedings, they can see the clerk of court with their fee). If you do so, then it is clear your intention is to incite a quarrel or fight. Your continued action to do so will be dealt with by police if necessary.

Like someone said earlier, take it to the court. I stated my side to balance the thread and those opinions you chose to involve. Beyond that, the mods would see it in their best interest to end the thread. The content in this thread is priveledged to the extent that it is the result of an established business relationship. I have consented to the content thus far, but I will not consent to something that can potentially result in damage to my property or further inflaming the situation.

You’ve been advised of your rights to the magistrate, if you wish to take them then do so, otherwise returning to inflame this situation will not happen. If it does, then the law WILL get involved at the end of my shift here.

Now your getting creative. I owned one other business that was ended to release a partnership.

End it, or it will escalate.

your funny…to the court it goes…
you feel threatened…NO THREATS WHERE EVER MADE!
and yeah you know no all the rules right…that was in your 911 operator training??? okay sure!:ugh2:

in4 :drama:

911 Operator??? Once again, your facts are mixed up. Take it to the magistrate…last time.

wow, just wow. i dont even know where to start.

all i’d like to know is, how can you have a car for as long as you did, and not get it running? your estimate of 350 hours means you need 9 weeks @ 40 hours to do a motor swap and bolt on shit???

as for your “fabrication”, what exactly was that on this swap?

All i hear from you is how your such a master fabricater. why havent i seen or heard of anythign good coming out of your hands? all i have seen is a pos white 99 jetta that you supposedly turbo’d, and some honda horror stories including this one.

funny you mention the mr-2. as same kid who owned that is mentioning how you fucked him over on a honda.
