All the talk about phones on here got me wondering how often people are upgrading their phones. It seems there are constantly new phones coming out each month and I see people ditching last month’s phone for this month’s newest and coolest phone.
Personally, I hate having a smart phone and I only upgrade when my phone breaks and I have no choice but to get a new phone.
Every 1-2 years
Every June/Summer (I’m a Sprint Premier member so I get $150 off every summer).
Every two yrs when my contract is up for renewal.
Once every few years, unless obviously the current one breaks.
Everytime I break my current phone.
I’ve had probably 5-6 phones by choice in the past 6-8 months. I just really like trying different/new phones out. But I actually currently switched back to the iPhone because of how much I really liked it when I had one a few months back.
5-6 phones in the past 8 months!? Dude, that’s ridiculous!
I have verizon so it should be every two years but they always send me emails with huge sales on phones if ordered via the internet so I switch like every 6-8 months or so for Free lol

2-3 years. iPhone has been great though. Way too many phone nerds. People need a new hobby.
I had my iPhone for a little over a year, no complaints. I really don’t feel the need to change unless my contract is over next year
Every 2 years when I get an email from Verizon telling me I have a free upgrade.

how do i get these emails?
and i get a new one everytime one breaks (which usually is just the same phone) or when i reup my contract every 2 years. i would love to buy a new phone right now as storms don’t last more then 3-6 months before needing to be replaced but i could waste a lot of money on a phone right now or wait till my b-day and buy myself a better one for cheap then so i will keep using the blackberry.
I usually upgrade whenever i get a free phone or a great deal somehow.
I still have a Nextel Motorola I730.
I had a few I850’s or whatever they were but I broke them and the other Nextel phone I had so I just bought another I730.
Ive got an old plan so I cant get new phones. Im still strictly Nextel, not Sprint-Nextel hybrid. For $32.99 for 800 minutes Ill stick with it though.
Pjb i was paying that for 800 minutes and unlimited text and data. Thats a horrible example of a “deal”.
Eligible for an upgrade every 2 yrs, but I wont be updating the current phone I have now.
It’s lasted me over a year and a half, dropped it multiple times and still works like a charm. WiFi when I need it, touch screen, and bubble breaker.
