Trying to get some feedback who actually visits the homepage.
Seeing most car clubs are forum oriented, but we’ve recently started
getting publicly involved with sponsorship and affiliation, and we’re
trying to see if others are taking notice.
lol, i just visited the homepage for the first time since its had that intro, and I get to see a picture I took from the convoy 
I look at the homepage everytime. Like it alot. A good place to see whats new and happening club wise.
Where is the option of everytime i log in?
I visit it everytime now.
I use the login on the side and the "view posts since last visit’ link is great.
You guys should use it too, it saves time, and you can see everythins that posted on one page.
son240sx.ca/forums is the only thing i type in, until the home page gets a little more exciting anyways…

Jeez, we announced the new home page along with the site redeisgn over
a month ago.
You guys are telling me you don’t even visit the home page?
I guess the old home page was SOOOOO bad that everyone is scared to
look there :lol:
There is lots of useful stuff on there now, you guys should start your visit
to SON240SX with just www.son240sx.ca and just use the login there…
That way you will be up to date with whats going on.

I see it all the time now. Everytime i hit the back button to go to another forum it pops up.

I turned the popup thing off. Andy and I agreed on it to try it out but
I guess it’s just annoying.

If you didn’t like it, why did it take you 2 years to do anything about it? I’m sick and tired of hearing you complain about how bad the site used to be.
When no one wanted to do anything bout it, I stepped up and threw some shit together, I ran a pole as to opinions and suggestions and everyone seemed to be fine with it.
And now you have a site revolving around the forums, smeared in google ads. Let’s all buy turbonators and 3.95/month web hosting…
Thats not what this thread is about. This is asking how people use the site
so that we can make the site easier for people to navigate, and keep
everyone up to date on events and meets.
What my comment meant was the old website was bad, in that it had
no real substance. The site shared nothing in common with the design of
our forum and was rarely updated, giving users no real reason to use the
home page. Now the main page acts as a portal to the forum and its
content is updated frequently, there is actually a purpose for people to
visit. You can login right there and see any news or important information
right off the bat when you visit SON.

Looking at your own site its obvious you have the skills to make a nice
site. But in 2 years the SON website never left the development stage,
and looked begin backstreet boys music incomplete end backstreet
boys music
Shall we do a poll and see whether people like the old site or this new one
better? :roll:
It took 2 years to do anything about it because I kept getting put off
everytime I asked for something to be done to the site or the forum. You
didn’t have the time to invest in the SON240SX website, yet you wanted
all the perks of the webmaster title. I got tired of it and did something
about it. As the old addage goes “if you want it done right, do it yourself.”
I don’t see the problem with the site being based around the forums. The
forums are an essential part of the club and Gautam has done a great job
to make everything integrated. As it stands the site is far from done but
is still as good as its ever been.
With the new team taking care of things (Myself, gautam on teh code, and
mikeness on teh graphics), the club looks better than ever. All content is
dynamically generated and thus easily updated by any moderator.
As far as the google ads go, they are getting better over time as google
indexes the site and crawls content allowing it to produce more relevant
ads. The ads do the members no harm, and help pay for the costs of
running the website. Everything is well integrated and people can now
search google right from the site when we tell them to “google” it. You
stuck your business name in the footer of the site and nobody got on your
case about it, so don’t go on about the site being plastered with google
ads. :roll:
Anyways… big-ups to the new web team here at SON240SX. The place is
looking better than ever.

2yrs ago SON had a pretty cool Homepage, don’t get us wrong Dre, you are pretty talented, but it was time for SON to have a change. It can’t hurt to try out new stylez. Also if the new homepage stays updated regularly it can be a very helpful in keeping the SON Community easily connected/updated to events that are going on in the region.
