I have DSL internet and trying to d/l some files, only problem is their hosted on a website/server that will only let me download one file every hour unless I pay them like 30.00 a month.
My question is, how can I request a new IP addy? I know I get a new one every few days, but is there a way to do it manually?
ehhhh, looking back at my ip i could easily be wrong though – mine is different than it was when i first signed on because i recorded it… so maybe it can be changed… :gotme: i would use a proxy if you want to d/l right away though.
Are you connected through a router? if so connect the dsl moedm directly to the computer then unplug the modem and restart the computer. If not you would need to release / renew the ip which amy not work because it is probably on a lease time. But to do that click Start then Run, type cmd and click ok. Type ipconfig /release and press enter then type ipconfig /renew and press enter.
negatory. all-in-one modem router. i’ll check when i get home, but i don’t think you can even clone the mac address with the dsl modem/router model we have… it’s kind of limited.
Verizon DSL is not static. You get a lease which will last a few weeks at a time. In order to get a new ip address, you have to change the MAC address. My guess is that you have the Westell 802.11g modem/router. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s an easy way obtain a new IP. If you’re trying to download off rapidshare, just wait for the happy hour.
Won’t work, you will be handed the same NAT IP address. My guess would be to disconnect the phone line from the Westell for an hour or so. Of if you don’t do anything at night, leave it disconnected all night. There’s really nothing short term you can do.
Have a look at all the IP’s I’ve posted under, thats from me turning my PC off for the night and turning it back on in the morning.I just changed it a few minutes ago,my old ip in the 11th post of this thread started with 70,now its 141.
