hi guys,i have a 5 inch faze tach i want to install and i just need to know where to connect the wires…i no one goes to the engine bay but i dont know where…2 of them are ground and one is for the dimmer…( i think thats all of them )…neways if neone installed this before or knows how to make a nice clean install pm me please

Sorry to break it to you but a “clean install of a 5 inch tach” is an
oxymoron.
Anyways you need to tap the RPM signal, you don’t need to run a wire to the engine bay, you can get a pinout for the ECU and tap the RPM signal
from there.
That being said my advice would be to sell the monster tach to some
dumb ricer.
haha so true the thing is bigger then the damn dash…but i got it for nothing so i just want to put it in…“clean install” meaning wires in the right place…
i swear the tach on my 240 is at least 4"??
is it hard for you to see the stock tach or something?

apexi makes a 120mm x25mm tach that willmount flush to your guage cluster cover… I’ll have one in next week for anyone interested in seeing how they fit… nice unit, EL glow, stepper motor, 10K rpm, 16bit processor with 30sec playback, warning and shift light all in one package… the crap that’s coming in from china that’s based on std autometer sizing is crap. ( so is auto meter but whatever)… If we can ever get a warm evening for a gta north meet you can see it in action.
btw: a)got the tach for free b)want a tach that works c) personally?..i would never buy a tach…( once again got for free so i want to install it

Red wire goes to the Blue/Red Wire behind the deck.
Black wire goes to any chassis ground.
Tach Signal wire goes to Yellow/Red wire behind cluster or at ECU.
