How to remove links in Firefox nav bar?

My navigation bar stores links, particularly old favs/bookmarks, most that I’ve since deleted completely from my bookmarks folder. The scroll down menu doesn’t show all of them, just randomly…which is weird because they are each in different designated folders.

How the F do I get rid of them? I’m the queen of bookmarking every site I come across for viewing at a later date. This annoys the shit out of my fiance.

I already have Firefox set to delete all history etc. upon closing the window. I’ve looked up a few possible solutions and all failed.

Stop looking at porn?

edit: nvm

Yeah I may have already got busted a few times…just one of the reasons I want these things GONE!

yeah doesn’t work.

Tools >> Clear Recent History >> Click the arrow next to Details and select Everything from the drop down menu >> hit Clear Now

That didn’t work either. Just updated Firefox and now they’re gone. Woohoo.

Tools -> Options -> Privacy

Uncheck the first two boxes. Things you have bookmarked will still show up but that’s it.

ctrl+shift+del
then click clear private data now.

WHY do they [bookmarks] show up? They’re gone from the scroll down menu finally but all start to pop up as I type in the nav bar. So annoying.

I haven’t figured that out yet, it annoys the shit out of me too. I used to use an older version of the browser to get rid of that but older versions don’t support some newer stuff so I guess I’m stuck with this bullshit for now.
