How to spend 6 grand or so on a starter replacement

Step 1: buy a Diablo

Step 2: fail to realize that for some reason, the starter gear failed to release before driving away from Home Depot

Step 3: pull over when you smell electrical smoke

good job…hot blue also…

very nice.

Even the Vise matces the car color!! …And I thought a Northstar starter was a bitch!

Wow. Looks like a huge pain in the ass.

Good work though.

when I pulled up to check the car out, and give my customer a ride home, he had a bag of doorknobs in the car.

heh…never caught that before. A Chiaro Blue vise…nice.

there was no other way to get that starter out other then to pull the motor?

thats the suck, you’d think if you payed all that money for a car of that caliber they would at least put some thinking into the design when parts fail…such as removal/access

Not a chance. The headers literally have 1/2" clearance off of the right frame rail(s). At that point, might as well do a clutch job as well, and add another 3500 so the job gets into the 5-figure range.

Typical Italian thinking. Style first. Everything else is secondary.

What a piece of shit car. I would still rock it though

Man and I thought old 4Runners with 4x4 were a bitch to get the starter out. But like I always say… if you can afford to drive it you can afford to fix it.

so wait you did this job?

yeah, done a few of them. why?

your list of steps show how to spend $160K…not $6K. That would make me slap my forehead and yell “FUCK!”
