How to swap doors?

Im replacing driver side door, replacement is exactly the same as the current one. (colour/power locks/power windows)

I assume I’ll have to take off fender, unplug harness, remove pins then do the reverse when installing.

I’m sure someone around her has to have some experience with it, any directions or tips?

I did one the other weekend.

  • Remove door panel and disconnect all harnesses (for speaker, windows, door locks))

  • For speakers, remove the entire speaker box instead of just the speaker and disconnect harness on back

  • Slide the harness from the door out the front opening

  • Unbolt 4 bolts at the hinge

  • You will need someone to hold the door and open it so you can reach the locking pin (stops the door from opening too far)

  • Tap up on the pin to remove pin

  • Remove door

  • ???

  • Profit

(Install is the same process pretty much backwards)

now… im going to probably have to change door locks from current door to new one so i can actually get into the car.

any pointers? directions?

uhm 1 more thing gonad left out.

after replacing those 4 bolts behind the fender, you’ll wanna leave them a little loose to adjust your body gaps, then tighten accordingly, 2 people is a help for this one
