HSA Bank suggestions

Im sure many of you have an HSA on here…who do you have your account through?

I opened one with HSA bank and they told me my account isn’t active until feb.1st because my insurance didn’t go through until the 2nd of January so I have to wait an entire month to get my money…note my money has been deducted and the rep told me they are “holding onto it until Feb 1st”

anyways they are already pissing me off because all of the finance people I work with have never heard of this…so I already want out

who would you suggest? google shows all this mashed up bullshit of random people with incredibly mixed reviews

share your good and bad experiences please

I went with M&T, really easy to deal with, nice billpay options.

Everyone I know that went with HSA bank at my company has had a ton of issues.

Ya I figured if im goign to get out I may as well do it from the start

how does M&T’s fees compare to HSA? I no HSA bank has a 2.5/month fee for accounts under 3k i think

IIRC, no fees unless you do investments. You need >$3K to do investments.

Looks like they do charge a fee now. $2/month.

No fees on my account though. Not sure if that was grandfathered in, because of my other accounts, or if it has to do with my employers relationship with the bank. Might be worth talking to someone at a branch.

Ya that is one thing I didnt think was going to be an issue when choosing HSA bank but i really wish there was a branch I could just go walk into and figure out my issues face to face (if i have any)

right now im lookng at First Niagra (first floor of my building so thats nice), AmeriCU (down the street from my office and the finance lady I work with suggested them after all this) , and possibly M&T now

I cant find ONE bank that seems to have zero fees…I find that amazing

I signed up for my account online, and have never spoken to anyone in person. The phone support has always been top notch.

My company set up ours with First Niagara. The $5 a month fee is annoying. The “interest” is a joke. I deal with our corporate checking accounts on a daily basis for over 4 years now, I’ve never been impressed with FNB…

Bank of America through GM, seems okay I guess, idk what an HSA is supposed to do for someone besides hold money for health related expenses, interest is non-existent, basically like a checking account

really a question of bullshit fees that they get away with because no one pays attention really

I can’t say I’ve seen any fees, but I’m sure they have something worked out with GM for that reason.
