Hurricane Ernesto....

So,

As some of you might know, I am in Charleston, SC now.

In about 8-10 hours, I get to go through Ernesto, Woo hoo.

This should be interesting, even though it has been reduced
to a tropical storm, we are still expecting very heavy rains,
flooding, and winds up to 60mph.

The best part is Charleston, SC is 3 ft above sea level.

Should be interesting, and 1FASTZ (I think that’s his username)
is staying with me now with his G-friend, so they get to go through
it with me today.

Fun fun…

I am here in Charlotte… I guess it is coming up the i 77 corridor the say… exciting shit… esp since none of these southern hillbillies know how to drive in the rain!

good luck and stay safe…i know it only tropical storm right now but be safe

wasnt it downgraded to a tropical depression? Though they mentioned that it might go back to tropical storm status.

hunker down

YaY!!!

i’m happy i get to miss it cause i don’t leave for 2 weeks…

welcome to S.C tom. See, now don’t you wish you never moved out of Buffalo?

curious…what do business and schools do in these situations? Do you have off of work?

i bet that he LOVES the fact that he moved outta buffalo

i think i heard this morning its back up to storm

its still a depression, and its only suppose to be 6-8 inches of rain and 45 mph wind

Hey man, glad your having fun down there :wiggle: Are you living in the city or outside of it?

Later

Jeller

Basically here is the scoop now…

The govenor has to call for an evacuation obviously for everyone to leave.

My work has not called for anything, just a nice letter from our safety guy
to not do anything stupid, and watch yourself in this situation.

Since the hurricane passed Florida, it regained a little strength and will pass
Charleston with the eye only about 0-1 mile off shore. Myrtle beach will be hit
the worst, which is relative because the storm isn’t a huge one like Hugo was.

Basically, it is starting to rain real heavy now, and the winds are just now picking up.

If this starts to get real interesting, I have a digital camcorder now and will film
some of it for you all to enjoy.

For reference, I am only about 5.5 miles inland, and about 7 miles north of downtown.

As for all other questions about being down here, I can’t believe all you people
are still living up there.

Tell richie I <3 his tight bod!

I can vouch for that, we snuggle every night when his girlfriend goes to sleep!

Bahahaha!

Enjoy the rain and wind…it was nasty here yesterday but nothing to really rant and rave about. I don’t think it will be that big of a deal when it hits there. Usually you should be worried if it’s a Cat. 2 or higher.

Updates? :ohnoes:

and, isnt Jim (slow84ta) in Myrtle?

oh man, b safe tom
GL!

oh wow…should be interesting to witness…but be careful and goodluck!

if i lived down there and a serious one were coming, I’d have a 2 post lift for that situation and put it on the highest locks

sounds like you should be allright, GL toooom

winds up to 70mph expected in some locations…

the only thing i’m worried about is taking the dogs out in the pouring rain at ~5am. :meh:

it’s already rainin’ pretty heavily here though…

edit: who wants to watch for rain-related accidents? http://www.ncdot.org/traffictravel/cameras/triangle.html :mamoru:
