As some of you might know, I am in Charleston, SC now.
In about 8-10 hours, I get to go through Ernesto, Woo hoo.
This should be interesting, even though it has been reduced
to a tropical storm, we are still expecting very heavy rains,
flooding, and winds up to 60mph.
The best part is Charleston, SC is 3 ft above sea level.
Should be interesting, and 1FASTZ (I think that’s his username)
is staying with me now with his G-friend, so they get to go through
it with me today.
I am here in Charlotte… I guess it is coming up the i 77 corridor the say… exciting shit… esp since none of these southern hillbillies know how to drive in the rain!
The govenor has to call for an evacuation obviously for everyone to leave.
My work has not called for anything, just a nice letter from our safety guy
to not do anything stupid, and watch yourself in this situation.
Since the hurricane passed Florida, it regained a little strength and will pass
Charleston with the eye only about 0-1 mile off shore. Myrtle beach will be hit
the worst, which is relative because the storm isn’t a huge one like Hugo was.
Basically, it is starting to rain real heavy now, and the winds are just now picking up.
If this starts to get real interesting, I have a digital camcorder now and will film
some of it for you all to enjoy.
For reference, I am only about 5.5 miles inland, and about 7 miles north of downtown.
As for all other questions about being down here, I can’t believe all you people
are still living up there.
Enjoy the rain and wind…it was nasty here yesterday but nothing to really rant and rave about. I don’t think it will be that big of a deal when it hits there. Usually you should be worried if it’s a Cat. 2 or higher.
