Hybrdthry911's Acura Integra build

Yeah, Pauter makes a really good product for the price you pay.

Swinging that bish to 9500?.. Forced fed and some screaming RPM. Nice!

Ah there’s the bolt specs I didn’t know. Some of the Porsche rods using the smaller GT3 journal cranks have been stepping up to 7/16", which seems awefully excessive until you factor in how much one of these motors costs if they pop on the track. On some of the 930 motors we’ve been undergrinding the crank to GT3 specs to allow use of the Carillo and Pankl rods with the larger bolts and just nitriding them afterwards. Porsche made the cranks so damn strong anyway. Henry @ Supertech with his crazy short stroke 2.8L does this using a 3.0 crank, but he also now offers his own billet crank to this spec as is for use with the Pankl titaniums.

BTW I still don’t believe how much power you guys make on these damn small motors  It’s is quite the impressive feat really! What are your goals with this beast?

9500 was the old motor this one will see 10+. i dont have any specific goals just 600+ whatever the clutch will hold really.

Is this because you feel uncomfortable because people on honda-tech say this and that? Unless you guys have had a motor fail because of the eagle rods. ITs really hard to get the truth of most destruction on honda-tech becaue they never tell the real stories. I have had eagles(new ones) and scat rods sping at 10,500 for years without problem at the 600+hp levels.

Scat h-beam has bigger arp bolts. same price But you can’t go wrong with pauter rods either.

I think Mike just went with what he had before. None of the eagle rods in the builds they have done failed he just went over kill incase he ends up going with a bigger setup

we havent had any failures here either. we have used many sets of eagle rods, but there are many inconsistancies. we have needed to hone many of the wrist pin holes, and file some of the tang grooves for the bearings as well. the final machining just leaves a lot to be desired. im not saying it would fail, just that i would prefer to have a higher quality rod in my motor. would i run an eagle rod on a motor sure but on this particular setup id rather not.

i actually havent seen a single failure on honda-tech with the new rod bolts. this is merely personal preference, like i said i didnt feel comfortable pushing them in my motor, you might think its overkill, but this is just what i feel comfortable running, not because of honda-tech or because they cost more. believe it or not sometimes you really do get what you pay for though.

so much for… “fuck going that fast!” eh?

good luck with everything.

its too cheap to go fast in a honda, tough to get out of the game. ill be buying something a little nicer soon though, but ill keep this.
