Up for sale is my 1999 Hyosung scooter. It is a 50cc engine, which means you do not need a motorcycle license to ride it. It is a 2-stroke engine, you dont need to mix cause its self mixing. It has about 5000 miles on it, but has been well maintaned. Goes 40MPH -45MPH depending on riders weight. Gets 100 miles per gallon. Tires are in good shape. Everything works on it except the electric start. There is a kick start, which I use to start it. For the electric start to work all you need is the relay. The reason I am selling is to up grade to a motorcycle. All light and turn signals work, battery needs to be charge or buy a new one. New seat cover. Just did a tune up on it and runs even better.
$700/BO OR TRADE FOR A MOTORCYCLE, NEEDS TO RUN AND/OR NEED LITTLE TO NO WORK.
Ok when I was at the DMV, I asked the clerk and she said that New York State classifies a 50cc Scooter as a motorcycle that does not go over 30 mph! I know what I am talking about! SO ONCE AGAIN, YOU DO NOT NEED A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE TO RIDE THIS SCOOTER!!!
STOP FUCKING THIS THREADUP!! I asked a cop(I work at the town highway) just now and he said that the vin # says that it is a 50cc motor and you do not need a license to drive the scooter. Yes online it say any scooter that goes over 30mph you need a license but they check that with the vin. 50cc scooters are made to only go 30mph but with mods you can get it to go faster. They don’t go out and ride the damn thing when you get it registered. The DMV only checks the vins and not the actual speed.
Ugh, I totally have cash in hand to buy this and this is exactly what I am looking for but I don’t have a MC license so maybe in the summer once i pass the MSF I will get it if you still have it. I can’t risk any more tix.
This is correct. My roommate rides one that goes 45 and he keeps it under 30 with no license. He was pulled over for not having his plate on once and got zero trouble from the cop about it.
