i want to get a scooter next summer, but do u need a moto license for those? i want something similar to this : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6719&viewitem=&item=160178295445&_trksid=p3907.m29

not looking for like, speed or anything, somethin to cruise down the street with or somethin… i dont know anythin about them or what is needed to drive them, so i thought i would see if anyone knew, and also where i could start lookin or what kinda models i should aim for. helmet law required for these?

IIRC you need a license for anything over 50cc’s.

Wrong n00b!

30mph top speed is the limit for not having an m on your license.

i think ill want one over 30mph so id have to take a test for M, are those tough?

Naw.

Instructor follows you in a car: “Turn left, then right, then right. Then pull over and wait for me. Then do 2 left hand circles in the road, 2 right hand circles in the road, and 2 figure 8’s. Don’t put your foot down.”

Get one of these Choko used to have when he could drive his cars:rofl: It was so much fun only 50cc but with a few cheap mods it will do 80mph and no license required!

Micah, let me know when your ready, my buddy in SB has a scooter shop. He has the best prices in WNY and I can get you a even bigger discount. he has everything from 50 cc to 250cc

DreiD thanks i will let you know

what fry said… and yea… anything over 30 mph requires the M endorsement, on an automatic scooter, it should be a joke

and if you decide you’d like something other than a Chinese scooter, LMK, I sell/restore/and supply parts for vintage Vespa and Lambretta scooters, and often times get vintage small displacement motorcycles and Japanese scoots as well.
www.buffalo66.net (piss poor site, but gives you the idea)

the way I look at it is that in 5 years, when the manufacturer of the chinese scoot is out of business (many have folded already) where are you going to get parts?

I have access to this brand of scooters as well-I’ll have them on the floor come spring. tried and true, and manufactured by a company that has been around since the 60’s
