I love the iDrive system, its awesome, especially on the new M3.
:word:
That radio looks like it belongs in 1992.
Who are you?
I’m not sure if that was an insult at me? Because my comment was not an insult at Don.
My A4 had a very similar screen and I enjoyed the set-up just fine.
The Cadillac has a decent system but the XM receiver from the factory sucks.
My dad had a 7 and actually liked the iDrive after he got used to it. But was fine with the controls in the 3 and 5 he had.
Most of the early 90’s stereos that I have heard in BMWs just sucked. The newer stuff sounds much better.
I was just making an observation on the classic styling, layout and look of a german radio set-up. Don enjoy the ride just get some snows if you are going to run into much snow, it won’t be like having quattro but at least manageable.
Nice don… did the a4 sell?
Awesome! Congrats. Nice to see you not make the SMG mistake like some other board member… LOL
X…
ILC I’m assuming
uhm… the switch was in April in the factory, which means like June on the dealer lot, its not hard to find an 03 with out the face lift.
Nice color, but I can never get over a dove interior…ugh…
EDIT: be happy with out BMW Non iDrive nav, it sucks… and is useless…
yea… i dunno what to tell ya… of the 3 03’s i drove/saw in person, all were post facelift…
beautiful car
Nice looking car don
coming from a cadilac fanboi… stick to your own kind please. nice car don.
bigron; i have the harman kardon setup in my 328i and it sounds pretty fucking good. my m3 came with aftermarket speakers though so I don’t know what was in there factory
thanks so much guys. the A4 is still around, my dad has it now, not sure what he’s been up to with it. i could really use the cash if he sells it now, haha.
i’ve never used idrive before, i just remember reading somewhere about it being confusing. i can’t see that thing being that bad I guess though. i really wanted navi because i get lost all the time in CT, but hell, can’t have it all…thank god for google maps on the phone.
as for options i have the winter pkg, premium package, moonroof, and sound system. everything but the navi, essentially. and no 19s. i guess the sound is pretty good. i’m sorta spoiled from my home setup though, so i don’t really think stock cars sound good no matter what.
i’m so happy with it though…got some pep to her too
I’m anti-fanboi
The radio seems like it belongs in your car, not his
yea, its not so much a question of how it sounds, but rather why the design aesthetics seem about 20 yrs old.
because the car design is 10 years old…
way to think about that one before saying it
congrats don!
Just make sure when it is wet you are conscious of the cars ability to kick the rear end out especially with dsc off and sport mode on. You’ll be like oh hay I’m looking backwards again.
Gas mileage suffers severely in sport mode also
As for the stock stereo you might as well get the iPod or mp3 adapter cause the cd player skips like a mother fucker.
If you plan on doing performane mods, Dont bother they are expensive as he’ll and are not worth the gains you’ll see at the price you will pay
huh?
jesus…
The E46 automobile platform is the fourth generation of BMW’s 3 Series entry-level luxury car / compact executive car. The sedan was introduced in 1998 and replaced the E36 sedan the same year. The touring and coupé models appeared in 1999 with BMW’s newly designed steptronic transmissions (available in all 3 series models), and the convertible and M3 later in 2000. The E46 Compact, a 3-door hatchback, was revealed in 2001 to be sold in European and Australian markets.
EDIT: What a fggt, ninja edits…
