M3 stock stereo is ok… The cd player sucks it skips like it is going out of style. IHI
Becareful in the rain with DSC off and sport mode on (pretty much the only way I drive the car) you’ll end up look backwards. The back end comes out really easy.
Performance mods. Don’t bother they don’t really do anything for you. 5hp… for 1000+ :cjerk:

yeah I wanted a car I didn’t have to mod to enjoy - no time, no place, etc. I could see getting an exhaust for sound, but I think it’s fine the way it is.
Since it’s my second day driving I’ve been a pussy and left DSC on for the most part, haha.
I would like to drive an SMG once just to see what it’s like driving one…but I wouldn’t own one based on what I’ve heard.
IMO Borla is one of the nicest sounding exhaust for the M3’s and seems to be cheaper than Active Autowerke, dinan ext. systems. the problem with m3 is without a SUPER nice exhaust they seem to get way to raspy for my liking.

I have OEM Euro headers, Borla section 1+2 and AA Gen 3. It sounds like crap till the car warms up, but sounds pretty nice once warm and full throttle.
not mine, but damn the AA sounds like shit with out the rest of the system

the stock HK system stinks… there are a bunch of rattles etc in the car… i swapped everything in my car out to Infinity components and a 5 channel amp and couldnt be happeier
What do you guys think about the ECUs out there? I know there’s not a lot to be gained modding the car, but do you think they put down anything in terms of #s?
I’m keeping the car stock for now…gotta get snows and gotta get a V1 to keep me out of trouble…heh
looks awesome don, they are so much fun to drive. it really came down to the m3 or the s4 BUT after i blew like 10 donuts and over-steered every corner i went around on the test drive i knew i would be buying tires every other month…LOL
oh and plz throw the vf charger kit on it 480hp yes plz…
Grab a set of ebay headers and exhaust and call it a day for power mods until you SC the car
the “ecu’s” out there still have not proven their worth to me, i am pretty sure they are really only chaging the throttle mapping to make the car feel more peppy… kind of like driving with teh sport mode on.
NONE of the makers have posted any before/after dyno sheets which is pretty telling in itself
the biggest improvement one can make with NA mods is losing the catted headers… other than that… cams -1200+ for < 10 hp… full exhaust… no gains… maybe headwork to get more into the cylinders… but thats just a shitty mod that will take the already terrible 20mpg to way less… and for it to be a DD, not recommended.
force induction on the other hand… 450hp for like 6 grand… or Turbo kits for 500hp for 13K…
Its all expensive… T67, intercooler, everything else… custom kit <8k for 500+ power
