I just installed an intake and aluminum pipe from intercooler to engine

Ok guys I have a completely stock SR20DET with the acception of a TurboSmart boost controller and a B.O.V

Problem is now that ive installed the aluminum pipe that goes from the intercooler to the throttle body(the pipe that runs along the front of the car) and the HKS turbo intake.

After 30 seconds of idling it starts to idle like my old truck!!! Bwap bwap bwap bwap. The sound sounds like its coming from the stock intercooler or the HKS intake. But the sound goes away when I rev it or drive it(sometimes it goes Bwaaap when I let off the throttle).

I need help guys cause I don’t wanna drive it unitl I know its safe. So if theres anyone in the calgary area that can drop by and listen to this thing plz PM me.

Sounds like a boost leak. Should be an easy fix. Go over EVERY connection and jerk them, make sure everything is sealed.

just as stated above, boost leak and probably a easy one to find since you can notice it even when idling.
go over all your couppling

Ok Ill do that right now haha brb

Ok I checked everything. Everything seems to be tight and good. I even poured water on some on the clamps to check for bubbles. Hrmmm this is wierd… Is it ok to drive?

Similar thing happened to me chekc your egr valve cover.

Hrmm ok ill check

EGR valve on my car looks brand new? Man this is fricken wieeeeerd. “Typhoon” stopped by today with his buddy to pick up my roll cage and hood, they didnt even know what was going on? They said maybe ti was cause the old stock airbox had a silencer thing and prevented the rough suction. Cause you know how stock airboxes have those little add-ons on the die of them with seperate tubes to the airbox?

Ok went to speedTech today. Guys said it’s normal, cant remember exactly what is it was. But its the metal container hanging off the top of the engine with like 3 tubes coming out of it.

metal thing , egr stuff you can take that out
you don’t need it

like all together? so im guessing weld off the EGR hey?

i don’t think we’re talking about the same thing lol, you don’t need to weld it off it should come off pretty easily the only hard part is that pipe connention to the down pipe.

I can take a look at it if you can drive it to me.
