by switching to geico from allstate,
…srsly. lol.
I was able to cut my 6 month premium in half, and is now down to $325.
That’s with 50,000/100,000 across the board, $500 deductible for Comp and Collision, $200 for injury.
not too shabby.

lol im just ball smashing
i need to check quotes again. I have been with Geico for 1.5 yrs. I guess you should get quotes every 6 months tho.
are you 25? i may look into them in the spring after its been 3 years since my last ticket. and ive been with geico for more than 3. paying 7 something per 6 mos for full coverage w/ 250 deduct on my 02 s10 and basic on my 93 civic… i like their customer service and online site. is all states better/comparable?
I’m still with allstate. I’ll be getting myself a car soon though so I’ll be shopping around, geico on the list.
Insurance wouldn’t be so cheap if you didn’t have such shitty coverage (see “50/100”). Good luck when you get in an accident
If you are younger, don’t own a house, or have assets, then why have huge coverage?
Just because you don’t own a house or have assets doesn’t mean they won’t garnish your wages to get their money if you’re sued. They’re going to get their money one way or another.
:word:
same deal when people think they are saving by having a 1k deductible. if you cant afford to throw 1k out to pay it then you arent really saving anything
Who would be suing? What is this situation? Because I’m quite certain that if you get sued over an accident, they can only sue you for as much as you are insured for.
Beyond that, 50,000/100,000 is shitty coverage? Explain.
and, 500/200 deductibles aren’t exactly through the roof.
No, your insurer is only covering YOU for up to your limits. Beyond that they come after you. People carry high(er than what you have) liability because if you are in an accident and end up with more damage then you PERSONALLY are responsible for the remainder. It is very easy to exceed those limits, imagine crashing in to a nice car (there goes the property limits) with a few people that now need medical treatment (or worse, want to sue for “neck pain”)
Insurance is one place you really shouldn’t cheap out on. I understand being young but be careful.
Awesome.
Party at Burnt Toast’s house since he’s got extra money.
Well, I’m 25.
And again, they can only sue for what is available through your insurance.
My ex got hit head-on by a drunk driver, virtually removing her foot. So her stay was with NO health insurance… re-attaching a foot, 2 weeks in a hospital, mercy flight, etc… and her 25,000-50,000 was tapped at the end of week 2.
She then sued the guy, and was able to get a whopping 100,000, cuz that’s what his insurance was worth. NYS no-fault for the win.
when I was searching for insurance quotes this last time around progressive was half of geico. then I paid all 6 months in full and it ended up being less then the quote by another $40.
