ha lucky. atleast its not a catagory 1 hurricane yet, needs 13mph more wind for that :lol oh well
No. There is no variance. There is right and wrong. If anything was added or changed that differs from the way it comes off the showroom then it is not stock.
:lol I didnt bring my car down with me though :sad :sad its getting moved into the garage for winter back home, then once I get used to having to actually do work I’m gonna bring it down in january ;D perfect for surf season :banana
weather they run 13’s or 14’s, its the trap speed what is more interesting to ME
I’m glad you say his opinion is more credible because he owns one, but what about the facts? Just because he owns one it doesn’t mean that the next guy might not know just as much about them. I’m just saying. I date an LSX freak. I know as much about them as I do my car. Does that mean that my opinion is shit because I don’t drive one?
Edit: Drew I’m not saying you don’t know about your car, so I hope you don’t take it like that. And why is it so hard to believe that they will run 13’s stock?
dont worry…I know where your comming from.
stage 2…is it hard for you to believe a bone stock C5 M6 runs low 13’s bone stock?

haha i’d be so excited with a 13.6 at 118 while people would look at me like :confused :wtf haha.
i dont care anymore, my car is in a few pieces right now.
Stage2SuperchargedCobalt :
Your actually agreeing with what I tried to say G/M/X. :nod
My statement was meant as “A ton of people believe their car is “stock”, when in fact it is not.”
Smokinn, I thought we were talking about Camaro SS’s.
How many different directions are we going to go in here …
^Good point.
Actually (to those with a keen automotive sense) it’s the 2nd best point after “what do some people mean when they say ‘stock’.”
I am talking about Camaro SS’s. I just wanted to make sure that you knew a C5, and a camaro SS had the same exact power plant, and nearly weighed the same as well…C5’s run low 13’s regularly…so why is it so hard for a SS to do the same?

That factory HP rating for the Fbody isn’t entirely accurate… :ninja

Stage2SuperchargedCobalt :
So your saying Camaro SS’s (as nice as they are) are the same as C5 Vette’s?
Hmmm. Let’s see …
Weight: 200-250lb. advantage –> Vette
Hp: +25hp advantage –> Vette
Car Layout: Unsprung Weight/Chassis/Etc., advantage –> Vette
The “same car”? Doesn’t look that way.
Heh Smokkin, I said in a previous post that I wasn’t going to get into a debate over this. I think SS’s are swweeeet , and the back-and-forth on this is really killing me.
A 'lil bit of my history might be amusing to you …
When I owned/raced diff 'Stangs back in the '80’s, (stock-for-stock) I routinely shut down Camaro Z-s with every model year that passed.
That is, until the LS1 was introduced in the F-bodys. At that point, the game was effectively over.
Only after the F-bodys were discontinued in '02 did Ford strike back with it’s '03 390hp Supercharged SVT. But it came too late in the game, and came at quite a hefty price (let’s not even mention the mid 90’s 4.6L Cobra’s that Ford recalled/stopped producing for a while because they weren’t making their advertised 320hp).
So the Camaro SS’s place in automotive history remains secure.
It’s just that I don’t see putting it on an equal footing with a C5 Vette. But don’t ask me, what do I know? Go ask a C5 owner.
I’m guessing that they’ll agree …
I’m pretty sure Smokin is talking about drag racing, where the F-body has the advantage of a solid rear axle, and similiar 1/4 mile times as the Vettes.

since when did they start running more hp in the vettes than the fbodys? Silly people dont understand that there the same engines, but why would someone buy a vette for 20k more if they knew they could have the camaro/trans am with the same hp? :nod

If anything the IRS from the Vette probably soaks up an extra hp or two.
