my advice if first bike buy a cheap one so you can drop it(unfotunately you will) for a first bike i am a big fan of the suzuki GS500 very reasonably priced and easy resale. and it is not a dedicated sport bike or crusier. so it will give you the opportunity to see what style of bike you want.

Ditto…x101231892631872537812 again. GS500 = cheap, fun, and middle ground between standard and cruiser. My first one was GS500, and I agree that it’s the best starter: enough to keep you interested, not so much you can get yourself in serious trouble without really trying too hard…IMO, FWIW, etc.
