so it’d be my guess that the upper income season ticket crowd would be more apt to show up for winning over bobble heads. that’s all, yeah all the giveaways help the walkups a ton, but if i ran the pirates and wanted to make money… i’d hire more winners, cut budget where i could, try to sell more to affluent neighborhoods and small companies. not have jason bay statues in two different uniforms. i just think alot of their problems are ,at the least partially, self inflicted that’s all
blow a ton of money on a team of established older veterans who can at least get the Pirates into the playoffs. drum up some interest and gradually work in younger cheaper players that can be developed.
i don’t think the current ownership would be committed to losing that much money initially.
no cap, no chance
If you had $5,000 to spend on a racecar and someone else had $100K, there’s no fucking way the $5,000 car has a prayer.
problem is if you market to rich people, you know they will get complaints from civil rights groups for one reason or another. The pirates cut the budget on the wrong end, they cut at the bottom…employees like me. you don’t save but cuttin at the bottom, you need to cut out people making too much and not doing anything. We do sell to small compaines, we have a ____ company night for almost every place around. SMALL MARKET is the biggest barrier with the way baseball is. when you don’t have the money to get players you can’t get the small amount funs that are borderline. I’m expecting something big for next year, they have to do it. they will get a big name in here.
tru dat. most overpaid with guarenteed contracts. they fucked themselves with that shit.
anyone done research in Zona, Minny, Oakland, they all seem to do fine. there’s got to be some piggy backing economically taht’d work for the bucs…right???
they all have bigger fan bases to pick from.
darkstar, i know he doesn’t care about baseball is dead right and thats the bottom line. the pirates can ice turds for as long as they want but thats the problem, you can’t build a team on quick sand. the pirates can’t afford to waste money and have it backfire, its sets them back so much where the yanks would just reload.
i didn’t know minny and zona were much bigger markets :dunno:
not true. look at SCS and his 100k supra then look at some stangs and Fbodies.
RACECAR!!! he meant like nascar type racing.
well if you race it at a track and it meets track qualifications. doesnt that count? he thinks his is a racecar and so are some domestics
;doh: jeez qwik its how it was used in that context. he used it in a certain context to make a point and he was succesful, let it go
let your topic die. 7 pages is enough of ranting about the pirates
you argue just to argue, its ridiculous
you complain about the pirates and there isnt no hope. so why even bother
quik does have a point
definitly true, pirates need the name changed to Pittsburgh STILLERS
:bowrofl: atleast the stillers have a fan base, just continue it with baseball :bowrofl:
