i think my engine is flooding....

my car is a '89 ka24e

when i start my car it’ll give a little sputter up to maybe 500rpm at the most, then dies out,
and cranking will not do anything
i have to turn my fuel pump off, crank a few to several times, then it starts up
sounds fine on residual pressure, then once i put the fuse back in (before the motor uses up the residual pressure) the idle is about 1200rpm
motor is running rich too

spark is there, consistent and strong
o2 sensor is good
i’m think my injectors are not leaking (not 100% sure, soch injectors are a little awkward to test on the fuel rail)

i unpluged my tps and ran not too bad for a week, then started acting up again, not starting and riching out

my tps was reading .7 kohm to 7.8kohm,
recalibrated it to 2kohm to 9.8kohm (which as i understand is where it should be) but doesn’t affect anything

at the moment, i’m at a bit of a loss
what are symptoms of a bad fuel regulator?
and any suggestion, advice would be appreciated

clogged cat?

well…last time i had my exhaust apart, the inlet side of the cat material looked concave, eaten a way i suppose,
i guess unbolting the cat would be the test,
its was fun the last time i had no muffler, so why not try it again

well…turns out it was my coolant temp sensor that was messing everyting up :?
after swaping in an extra one i had, all is well

check the maf, unplug it and start the car, if it runs fine just a bit rich then its a bad maf, if not then its obviously something else.
