Yeah try a retail store, they should have a name brand matte clear. Worst case, have Urban mix you a can.
I used matte clear on on my chrome headlight housings. Looks great two years later. However, it had a little more gloss/shine than I expected. I would do a test area first.

I still think a laminate would be the best bet, but I’ll try this first…
well, a HOT (gel/liquid) laminate would be better and more durable.
