Called kinkos, they said that they only had gloss clear. Looked at officemax.com and officedepot.com…
Maybe a framing shop? IDK…

Contact paper for a DIY matte finish. I used this stuff as a kid all the time, it’s not glossy.
have you used that before?
yes…it’s fine. quite being such a pussy. DIY.
I want to DIY, where do i get that?
I have, many times, to make displays / handouts / etc. Get it at a grocery store, hardware store, etc. It’s called… CONTACT PAPER
cool, I’ll give it a shot.
does it have a slight texture? It’s important that it’s NOT glossy…
Perfectly smooth. Test it on a different photo, see if the results are what you desire. If not, you’re only out what? 3 bucks?
im sure it could if you needed it to.
but otherwise no. none that i have used.
Does it dull up blacks at all?
That would be a potential concern. I dont wan’t to say its cloudy, but its not like a high gloss crystal clear. I feel like you’d get that with any matte finish though…
use to be used for making licenses
I want to use it on THIS to knock the gloss down. OEM has a very slightly textured matte finish. The high gloss looks kinda… “cheap”
I could see it happening. Its def NOT a super thin material, therefore its a bit translucent…
OH. Dunno if a film is the best approach. If things aren’t perfectly flush you’d probably get bubbles over time, or separations at the edges.
Why not spray it with a matte clear coat? Even a rattle can should do the trick.
don’t see how it wouldn’t dull it a bit, but thats kind of the point of matte finish, no?
def a better idea, imo
I thought about a matte clear spray, was going to try that too, but if you look in the vid i posted, that’s almost exactly the finish I want…
Well, that being said, I would worry about the durability of ‘Contact Paper’ in this application.
I’d go with a matte clearcoat.
well, I’ll try the matte spray. I can probably aquire at home depot, huh?
