Went to an interview at Pitt… terrible interview. was in and out in 15 minutes because I cannot work the hours they need me to work due to my school schedule. Plus they guy kept saying that ‘with you working 22 hours a week and goingto school full time I dont think acedemically you can do it’
EVEN though about 10 times I told him I’ve been working 40+ hours a week and going to school with 12 - 16 credits a semester since I turned 18… and can still hold a great GPA. He seemed to not think I as capable of answering phones and studying on the weekends I guess.
So whatever… Got an interview to be a server at a little place in Squirrel Hill later.
fuck people that are assholes… just suck it up and smile… that’s about all you can do.

Hemingway’s is looking for servers AM and PM. Also look at the computer labs, some are 24 by 7 and you don’t HAVE to be a IS major to hand out print jobs…
i know the bartenders there and a few servers and they make a shit ton of cash. that place is always busy.

yeah. i think you applied for a part time staff position. where you can recieve tuition benefits and stuff.
Look for a student job, they really wont expect that much from you schedule wise.
like i said. If you can get admitted first, then it will be easy to find a job as a student worker on campus. I know our department hires tons of them each semester. I might be able to hook you up.

but be warned a lot of depts are only looking for student workers who have qulified for/granted work study. most won’t just hire them & pay them out of their own money.
i got gearheads sis a job here in my office but she had to jump through all the workstudy hoops
well some departments require work study grants some just hire student employees. i know in the advising center they had 2 student employees and 2 workstudies.
