i would almost buy a hatch now...

There are legitimate reasons to stretch tires.

  1. Cost
  2. Space Availability
  3. Stiffer Sidewall (less flex)
  4. Better breakaway (drift specific)
  5. Better re entry (drift specific)

Dont like it? Don’t do it…

It’s fine for drifting. It’s dangerous on the street.

How many Golfs or Jettas do you see drifting?

  1. Cost

a 215 would cost no more than a 225, heck the 215 might even be more considering there are fewer made since very few cars use a 215 as opposed to 225

  1. Space Availability

legitimate reason, but usually not the main one
3) Stiffer Sidewall (less flex)

get a run flat

  1. Better breakaway (drift specific)

yeah i read about this in one of society mike’s post, never really heard about it before though.

  1. Better re entry (drift specific)

what do you mean by this?

liek it gains grip back sooner?

Its hard to find a shop around here that will actually stretch tires for you (unless you want to get charged up the ass).
I’m kinda uneasy about overstretching of tires. Take the 9" wide rims for example, 225s look to be the limit for me, id rather stick with 235’s tho. 215’s i dont know about.
Only good thing about stretching 215’s is that they are easy to get ahold of 2nd hand, lotsa ricers run 16or17or18 x 7-7.5 so they are in abundance at used tire shops.
Whats the legality on stretched tires? Can you get a ticket for it?

215’s are used far more then 225’s… For example the G35 uses 215’s…

Space is a huge issue… and it’s very common… For example… I cant run a 235 on my car…

Buy a run flat? Dont be an ass… It’s more responsive when the sidewalls are taught…

I’ve never heard about society mike talk about it… but at least thats a credible resource to back up what it being said…

Re entry is basically your exit from a drift… It’s smoother and more predictable with stretched tires…

that car with steelies = my car

i WISH i had those wheels. super super pimp car, nice find bing.

when i was looking for tires i could barely find 215’s in a suitable aspect ratio for our cars.

everything was 205 / 225

when i inquired with some of the largest tire distributors in ontario they all said that 215’s were much harder to find and that i should go with a 225.

They lied?

215’s are whored out like crazy…

bob u said 235’s dont fit on your car? why not?

i have 215’s on the back of my car right now, on 15’s…

i just got wheels, 17x9… 235’s a good choice?? 225 even hehe… are those R34 wheels 17x9 too?

235’s will rub on the front… at least on mine anyways…

i like things sometimes

but i dont like r34 wheels. im sorry.

ill tell you what though. i like that car. i do i do.

and ill tell you what else. bing makes me happy in the pants.

ahh im boinked. louisville slugger here i come!

It depends on how low it is… Gregs 235’s clear fine…

yes they clear no issue on a +20 offset.

however. the rears are very very tight. i suggest rolling the fenders out of the way.

as well these are clearing with at least 4 deg neg camber front and rear

GT

mine are +35, so they’ll be closer to the edge of the fender, but further from the suspension.

my car is slammed to shit and its staying that way, i’ll be rollin’ and pullin’ my way to toight-ness.

i want to see all your hanabi’d up cars now, u fuckkin teasers eh. hehe.

uhhh +35 means further from the fender…

GT

Especially if it’s a 7" wheel :happysad:

hahahahaha spilner wins again
hahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

Haha wow, you just owned yourself again.

+35 is closer to the suspension and you won’t be rollin’ and pullin’
anything unless you get some 30mm spacers for 7" rims.

I love how you talk like you know what you’re talking about, its classic
when you say stuff like this…

maybe he meant as compared to a +40??
