well i’m trying to fit 18x10 and 18x12’s under it. currently i need to get new springs for up front to run the 10’s for how low i’m planning on. but for now they fit awesome out back, so i put my old racing hart 18x8’s up front to see how it looked. but next weekend i plan on attempting to tuck the 12’s out back. here’s what i’m left with for now
(i plan on getting a new exhaust soon so idc how much this old one scrapes for now haha making my own probably and will be tucked away as a single shot) DSC_5758 by P.J. Prendergast, on Flickr
i’ve been working with another forum member on here, ollie. i’m painting his car this summer and he’s hooking me up with some wheels (not sure what i’m going with yet but we’ll see), so here’s his m3. stanceworks featured car just chilling in my yard, whatever haha DSC_5722 by P.J. In moderation they look great, however in recent years moderation is too bland and everyone is going for the extreme. Then they move on to a new venture as a community.
This cycle goes with every trend, JDM, body kits, etc. Even more muscle guys there are things like restoration that people take to an extreme, or gassers.
what ever happened to people doing what they like because thats what they like, oh wait that is what he is doing. the big tire fitment didn’t go anywhere, more people do that then stretched tires. stop acting like every car that is modified has stretched tires and is scraping the ground. let people do what they want to to cars and when you don’t like it you can just click the back button and go find some cars with some crazy wide slicks in the back to go fast down a 1/4 mile strip because thats what you enjoy.
I personally have streched tires and I’m not defending the look cause I agree to each their own… but I feel that “look” really hasn’t hit up here. I lived in Cali for a year and Va Beach for 4 years, and that is almost all you see in those areas. When I lived in Cali and Florida I feel in love with look of streched tires on dropped imports. Hence that is what I am doing to my G35 but I appreciate a fine body regardless of the make and model. And having streched tires w/ crazy camber does have a harsh ride but i guess you are sacraficing performance for looks.
and what ever happened to people posting their opinions? If he didnt want positive and negative feedback, threads like this wouldnt be made. I just to happened to be the first one coming out and saying I dont like that style. I asked a few questions because I just dont get it. I see threads pop up here weekly about someone stretching their tires or how to do it or something. I just dont get it I guess.
im going to go stretch some 145 series civic tires on my 11" wide wheels now.
