Oh Hi, I stretched.

So i take my CCW’s into a tire shop to have them mounted…

i gave them 225 Hankook Ventus R-comps from Peter’s group buy. 235 ZR Coopers, and some 275 Falken 452s… said mount which ever you can.

i get a call back 1 hour later…

“we cant mount these, the wheels are too wide”

i said “you cant even mount the 275’s on a 10.5”

“nope too wide”

i’m thinking bullshit, since that is a stock Corvette size.

Anyways, i pick the wheels up and take them to another tire shop in the same plaza… these guys basically kicked serious ASS… they mounted them in like 30 minutes… and look at the result.

thats a 235/40/17 stretched on a 17 x 10.5 in wheel…

they stretched the 225 R-comp over a 9.5, but then found that the other R-comp was busted… the bead was cut through to the metal weave underneath the rubber… SHAADY!!!11!

soooo no i have one useless discontinued R-comp… i also have a useless discontinued 245 Firehawk SZ50 laying around after a blow-out… fukk accumulating useless tires.

gotta pick up some tires from GB Tires tonight… WEEE!!

these are gonna look disgusting(in a good way) on the coupe

they’re going on my Kouki first.

i didnt mount the 275’s because i didnt think they would clear the stock fenders.

send me some pics

lol that tire shop is weak… tell them ur not coming back

might not be your fault Petaaah…

i think it might have been that first shop, but i have no way of proving either way.

yea

ive never had a problem with these tires

these tires have VERY stiff side walls

After working on tires for so long and seeing the shadiness of CT… I would bet my first born it was them trying to mount them. Saw it all the time when customers would go there first, come to us after and then need to buy new tires.

Looks pimp either way though.

Anyone know any good mounting and balancing places in North York or anywhere in Toronto?

GBtires FTW!!!

Hooked up Bing with some 235s I had in stock.

hahah Ving was jumping up and down with the sound of my exhaust at 930pm…crazy lil kid

PS: stretch looks cleaaaaan

gay.

this is the first stretched tire i dont like. I think it must be the wheels, no no, its probably the size of the sidewalls.

either way stretch=sexed.
you made a good choice.

+1

i want eff-ing CCW’s too :frowning:

is that even safe?

the bead is barely making any contact?

bead glue my friend, works wonders.

stretch is gay

so is this thread

I don’t know about you guys, but I like my shit tight…not losey goosey

what does stretching do?

Tires23 in mississauga have hooked it up a bunch with stretching tires.

eliminate side wall flex thus making it easier to kick out. also a great way to make a set of rims fit with out rolln and pulln fenders. i have 225 strechd on 9’s but 45 series… must get 40’s
