I woulda def dropped $3k on this. (AE-86 Content)

I’d buy it, and immediately buy wheels and a steering wheel for it :lol…those seats are the tits!

and get real suspension.

and clean up the rats nest of an engine bay

and strip the paint off the moldings

and get rid of gay ebay parts

This is like the ultimate fanboi car. seriously it is

it totally is, but i dig them

5 valves per cylinder = win.

Have to love Yamaha for that one.:thumbup

Does that thing have a TTT suspension setup?

Front is TTT rear is TRD

Sir you obviously have no knowledge of AE86s.

Take it from the ONLY guy on here who owns one.

*Oh wait just kidding now there’s another guy.

Actually there was a couple people before ya, just saying

I owned one for all of three month.

I driven a few.

The motor and the jblood knockoff are the only things i like about that car. period end of story

Anyone who wants to tell me that Kyb agx shocks are good real car quality I absoultely out of thier mind. I have used those numerous times on numerous cars and they were shot within a year of simple autocross use and these cars were correctly set up.

Corners were cut on this car and his asking price of $6000 is simple not justified, even for $3000 its not justified.

I’d say it’s a good deal for 3k

You are the ultimate fanboi.

& I don’t believe you’ve used AGXs on any of your cars. I actually have them on my AE86 with swift springs and I’ve never had or heard any complaints. (Other than Tokico HTS’s are better and they’re out of production. I originally tired to order those and everywhere I called said they were out of stock).

First off T3 coilovers are quality. If you think otherwise you REALLY don’t know corollas. They’re designed to work with AGXs.

A AE111 20v swap costs $5500 from Drift Office.

So everyone don’t listen to Ron, this car is a good deal and it’s not a piece of shit with corners cut in the build.

Looks like there were still some corners cut, usually there is with DIY.

name one

I already did haha

Both my EG’s had agx’s. Both cars I had to swap out the agxs after one season or less of driving.

Quality shock/struts are shock that can be rebuilt. Not just simply ohhh its blown let me email KYB about this and have them hem and haw and bullshit me till i tell them to go fuck themsleves and switch to billstein or koni.

but no IDK what im talking about. The only agx’s i didn’t have issues with were the ones on the s13 i had for like a month in 2002. I actualy think those may still be on the car my that my friend now owns

you idiot you can *get AGXs rebuilt

that was the Weakest example. Name something that should cause concern.

KYB told me they would replace mine at a cut rate they do not rebuild.

unless it is different for corrollas but I know for a fact they cannot be rebuilt for honda and subaru.

I used to work at a performance shop and an autozone. IF KYB does warranty something it is replaced they are not rebuildable

Sucks for you… mine can be rebuilt.

uh if I bought a car and found a random spool 6ft of wire zip tied behind the motor I’d be pretty concerned and worry about what other corners were cut.

or it could mean nothing, regardless it’s something that didn’t need to be there.

truth.

From the Man Bob from Drift Office:
Whoops - typed too fast.

I assume you’re looking for a suspension you can use for street AND track, so I’ll give you the spiel that I give everyone who comes into the store, asking the same question…

Firstly, your decision to purchase would be motivated greatly by price, as with everyone else, no matter what I’ve heard… price seems to always be the consideration. With that in mind, here’s what we’re looking at :

Espelir Active Super Down (ASDs) w/ Tokico Blues or KYB GR-2s
Price : Approx : $350

More of a STREET only setup, but it is still better than 20 year old stock shocks with cut springs…

SWIFT / TRD Race Springs w/ KYB AGXx & T3 Strut Tube Spacer + NRCA
Price : $Approx 850

We’ve got this and it’s a decent setup for both AutoX and Drift ~ by no means the all that ends all, but there’s certainly value here.

D2 Racing Coilovers
Price : Approx $1200

Full front & rear coilovers, complete with camber plates and fully adjustable shocks. They say 36 way but it’s really one of those infinite way adjustment shocks. They’re a bit less ergonomic than most, but it’s a working coilover setup. Not the greatest, but if you were to start building on the setup listed above, then with camber plates and such, you’ll exceed the $1200 mark. D2s are also height adjustable.

Megan Racing AE86 Coilovers
Price : Approx $1100 Kit Form

This offering is the latest amongst all out there ~ and it’s very similar to what Greddy offers. In fact, it’s probably coming from the same plant that re-badged this design for Greddy’s in Taiwan. Construction looks to be every bit as good as Greddy’s offering below, but the difference is that they require you to cut off 50mm off your spindle’s perch so that you can slip it into the Megan strut sleeves and weld them on. Figure associated costs to do that and install to be another $300, bringing up your total to $1400.

Greddy Type-S / T3 Coilovers
Price : Approx $1600

Probably the best bang for the buck (for now, till some OTHER company comes out with their offering) and it will work well for any motor sport environment. Quality is pretty good and regardless of your brand orientation, Greddy is considered “bling.” Bling goes along way in the decision making process, so we’ll eventually see more people picking up the Greddys since they’re new and “hot”. T3’s coilover setup has been around for years and I’ve yet to see any real complaints either…

All the rest : Tein / Silkroad / Cusco / TODA / Kei-Office / Revolver
Price : Approx $1800 - $3000

There’s very little that warrants the large price difference between this group compared to the rest IMHO. But - if you want to really shine… or be a baller, then yeah, go ahead.

My 2 cents!

Bob

Drift-Office, LLC

So he uses Swift/AGX setup on their Formula D Ae86.

Greddy also is known to seize.
