Just so you know… there are quite a few more ka-t guys on the site.
You missed the main ones…
Btw, good job on getting it up and running the right way John.
Car felt quick, just need to up the boost in the spring and you’re good.

Looking good John good work man and nice vid too.
I was refering to the KA-T that where posted on the site . I posted pictures , pump did , jackal and sideway where also on the highlight .
To be honest they are the only ka-t that i have seen on the this board .
Then comes andrews that I personnaly seen and shift ka that I heard .
I am trying to start an argument here but theses are the only ka-t that I know .
Well thanks guys…I appreciate the feedback, even if it IS trying to coerce me to up the boost…hahaha.
Again, as promised, here is a massive picture dump of the install and misc. stuff. Keep in mind the front bumper is not completed!!
The pictures are in reverse order lol, so if you want to “follow along”, let them load and start from the bottom…
Enjoy.
===============================================
setup looks real sweet…only major issue i can tell u is that your brake fluids gonna boil within 3 or 4 laps of any track u race at…make sure u cover that with some really, really good high temp shielding…good luck
slipperysilvia - Thanks man! I THINK the brake fluid should be alright as it is because the downpipe wrap REALLY takes a lot of the heat away and the ENTIRE under and upper side of the MC and resevoir, including the lines, are covered in heat wrap. Will keep an eye on!!
And lastly, the rest of the short vids i’ve got so far - nothing great really though…

Great writeup, we need more writeups like this! Reminds me of clublexus!
My comments (not trying to be rude just in a rush, overal great job dude!!)
(p.s. i helped eric with this kit a bit and WAS NOT impressed at all, a kit is a kit its supposed to all fit together without any extra workings and fixing of things)
Brake line
still looks wayyy too close, on the track that thing would be bad news, i hope your ebrake works well! I don’t really know what i’d suggest doing, it would require modifying the whole manifold really. either way just be careful. heat wrap is good but its not enough i dont think
Bov
i dont think 5psi will do it, but either way try running a big thick vaccum line from your biggest after throttle body nipple to the bov and hopefully it’ll suck with enough vacum to pull it open.
Air Filter
that things gotta go, the HKS is terrible i can only imagine what an HKS copy will do to your engine and even turbo over time. I know there isn’t much space but maybe buy a small biltz pod filter or even an apex would likely fit in there
FPR
dont raise boost until you get propor fuel management dude!! im scared at such high fuel pressures already, im not sure how good it is for injectors as well. Even an S-AFC and some 370’s will do the trick for 250rwhp or so, 440’s will work i bet!
Overal looks great i know the feeling of going to boost its so so so sweet, i remember my first car oh the memories
well time to get drunk boys expect an early morning post
Hey John the pic’s are really nice.
As far as you brake lines and master, do what I did and first use some OE vacumm hose (which I’m sure you have), cut a slit down the full length of it on one side. Then wrap that over the metal lines. Then you can use some aluminum tape on top of that. You can also try bending the lines away from the turbo or minifold runners. They don’t move a hell of a lot but the further away the better.
The aluminum tape is working our perfectly for me and if you take your time it does’nt turn out bad at all. So far, even during the heat wave, I had no problems.
One other thing, GET THAT MANI SLOTTED! Releves any and all stress on it. Just have it slotted at the engine flange between the runners and your good. Won’t cost that much at all.
Anyway just a thought for ya.
Thanks!
When more and more custom work was needed, my mechanic was starting to feel the same way. I believe that most “kits” would actually be even worse though, because IAP DID include a lot of the small things.
I’m gonna keep an eye on this, i’ll watch for any fluid leaks and maybe take a closer look after pushing the car some. My brakes have always felt good since I installed them, and the kit.
I’m gonna try this and possibly also venting it for the first time to see how things react as well, in case the recirc is causing an issue somehow.
I noticed it didn’t look “top notch” lol, I guess i’ll have a look around.
I won’t be going more than 7 PSI ever…may even leave it at 5. Laugh all you want guys, but i’m good with it given my intentions and all the factors. This said, if I ever go higher, rest assured the according mods will be done to accomodate (read: fuel).
Boost is to be savoured everytime, like a fine wine; or even better, a fine honey…
Sidewaze, i’ve got the flex-pipe installed, this should relieve most stress from the system.
Thanks for all the good thoughts.
very nice! u gotta take me for a spin soon! you’re also a west ender right?
haha Mark, nope he’s a Eastender.
haha Mark, nope he’s a Eastender.[/quote]
I’m an east-ender but ideally i’ll be coming out to more than just east end meets, I enjoy the drive. So sure Birdie we’ll go for a spin at some point.
Looks great man.
I think absolum offended Phil because he got left out of the KA-T list.
Phil, I’m not sure what classifies someone as “main”, but do you consider yourself one of the “main” KA-T’s?
watches phils balls bust
PS - I saw absolums KA-T install at John’s meet, it’s damn clean.
Come on Jammin ,
I want to apologize for not listing Phil , I just remembered him . The last time I met him was at last year big cuise .
He was the 1st person that I met that had a ka-t . I personnaly never seen the car but heard a lot about it .
Honest mistake…all KA-T’ers = :grouphug:
No no, I didn’t mean anything like that.
I don’t even really advertise my car much on here, I just meant that the faster ka-ters were left out.
Like Adam H, Mike F, Chris, Jantos, and a few other guys…
Most def… :salut:
hey im so interested how much was the kit?
Details are here…
http://import-autoperformance.com/240sxstage1.html
The stage 1 kit which now includes the Greddy RS BOV and more stuff than before, costs a fair bit more. I got an insane deal on the kit through a SON/NICO discount. They may still have it. Just ask them to remove anything you don’t want out of the kit if anything, reducing the price.
man thats amazing, its a good thing you used all new parts and stuff looks more or less done properly, but yea see what you can do maybe get a turbine heat jacket and a jacket for the components, looks sikkk, way to go man!
