Ideas on how to capitalize (cashing in on weight loss)

So for those you didn’t see my other thread; I have dropped about 160 lbs in around a year (still dropping). I have done it by eating right and working out a bunch with no surgery or magic pills.

I see commercials all the time with people who have lost 80 or 100 lbs pushing products and trying to figure out if I can make a buck or two off this.

I already have done a short commercial/interview for a small fitness equipment company out of Detroit, the burnmachine . Once it airs I will post it up.

Here are other things that I used/ate during this program; subway, potbelly subs, lean cuisine, smart one meals, instant oatmeal, honeynut cheerios, lifetime elliptical, smith system, and I am sure I could think of plenty more.

Any ideas how to get in contact and pitch this idea?
Figured put this on the network off topic and it might reach more people with more contacts.

only in America…

but more seriously, if you have good enough before and after pics then you might be able to market them. You would need to look finished (as others who are where you started would like to end up) and not 2/3rds of the way there.

maybe become a motivational speaker?

You already capitalized on adding years to your life, enjoy it and let it be. Congrats.

X…

How well is your weightloss documented? Subway seems to be focused on it’s athletes. I’d just try contacting the PR people for these companies.

Hey I figure if someone want to hand me a check for talking on camera, why not take it.
In reality I only probably have another 10 - 15 lbs I can cut off. I look pretty finished at this point.

X, I agree and extremely happy content with where I am at, but after this first commerical it has me thinking that now is the time to cash in, if I can. Why not try?

I have daily weigh ins documented and some pictures along the way.

Before and After

That’s a LOT of weight! Do you have any before/after photos to share?

Edit: Holy crap! That’s pretty awesome

Wow! that’s inpressive.

Leave him alone guys, it’s ambition like this that gets you a CTS-V. Am I right or am I right?

EDIT:

Think it’s time to no longer be BigRon? lol

You lost weight eating all that crap? I’d see about getting a sponsorship from the trojan and the church since your weight loss is a fucking miracle.

Good luck making a buck or two off of it. Counting all the money you saved on treating heart disease, diabetes, and cancer you probably made like $2 million bucks doing this.

No idea on money making, but congrats on the massive weight loss.

I just needed to fit into the recaros of the new V and weight loss was the only way…
I will never be a little guy, I anticipate adding some more muscle back onto the frame.

Another reason I like this is stories like mine motivated me to achieve my goals (even guys on here). So hopefully my story/success can help others as well.

He should send this all to his health insurance company and ask for a pro-rated refund on treatments! lol

I listed things that I could get a sponsorship from. Hard to get a sponsorship from a cow or chicken…
Subs were a good replacement for lunch. Soup/instant meals were a decent low calorie decent protein source for a quick late meal when working late didn’t provide time to make a meal. Shakes also worked as well

If I lost 160lbs I would then carry a 160# bag of sand for a day to realize how much f’ing weight that is. That’s just me, I am weird like that. Nice job.

The problem is everything marketed is basically a scam, they photoshop people. They have the small print at the bottom of the screen saying patients on a calorie restricted diet, but yet are advertising a product that is supposed to make you burn fat just taking it.

EDIT: Pics aren’t working for me

Jesus nice job!

lol

wow congrats, and i probably would try and capitalize on it also… but in the end the extra years and better quality of life you added are worth far more

Good job man, keep it up!

Not a bad idea.

Yeah the way I would want to pitch would be using X product to be included in a low calorie/ high protein diet with plenty of exercise.
I did not want to take a pill and lose weight, because I wanted whatever I did to be something I could maintain the rest of my life. Pills and crash diets work briefly but people gain it back since it is not maintainable.
Pics are from facebook, I can work on rehosting them in photobucket (Edit: updated)

I have daily weigh ins that I have excel format/charted with some pictures along the way.
My question is how do I get the PR e-mail. I would rather not just hit the contact us button on the website.
