If you didn't have to pay for it: Bold 2 or iphone?

if you have vzw, you are not gettin a bold.

i had to make this decision too, so i did the only logical thing…

bought a BB for phone, email, sms & chat and a ipod touch for music, movies & games

win win

if i had to choose one… id switch to VZW and get an android phone

no way I’m going to use 2 devices.

the media player in BB works so well, theres no reason for 2 devices.

so then I say get the bold… i like having a physical keyboard and nothing beats BBM

Sorry, i think its the tour, looks like a curve but better.

What’s your priority?

Phone, text, email, media, web browsing

Rate from 1 - 5

Probably in the order you have listed, but i’d add browsing online…

Phone, text, web, email, media

i hate iphones… it’s a toy or a prop for tweens or casual users.

if you’re using it for business you need to have a phone with real buttons.

how’s the speakerphone on the bold 2? I really miss the tour’s. the e71 sucks. The iphone is better than the e71 but not as good as the tour’s.

If that is true then its BB all the way… Better sound quality for calls hands down. Text is obviously a million times better on a real keyboard no matter what people will tell you about how well they type with a screen keyboard they are fooling themselves. Kind of like when people say they actually like eating raw clams over cooked ones, they just say it to sound cool.

Browsing is the only thing the iphone does better but the browser isnt bad on the bb at all and its only getting better.

That is seriously the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I don’t mean to flame, but that thing has GOOD built in functionality along with a SERIOUS amount of functionality that can be added on via the app store. Just because the screen is virtual, doesn’t mean that it’s useless.

oh come on, i am sure you’ve heard alot dumber shit than that.

i don’t know anyone with an iphone that i would take serious advice from… lets just put it that way…

i laughed then i thought about this for a minute and its 100% accurate… I thought that i have a co-worker with one that i respect then i remembered he got it cause the girl selling it was hot.

ok you’re right, I am exaggerator. I admitted that earlier, elsewhere.

Still though, the functionality is there. If you don’t care to realize it, then it’s just ignorance on your part. IMO, for the items that newman posted, they are equally interchangeable devices. The only thing that I really think the iphone does A TON better is web browsing. It’s faster and smoother than on any other phone out there. For me though, when you visit the app store and check out the plethora of apps, it’s decided.

Apps are the key to the smarthphone market. It’s the only reason why the iphone is so far ahead.

in an enterprise environment, there is just no comparing to the security and simplicity of a BB.

maybe

But you do know that the new iphone supports on-board exchange data encryption, as well as over-the air encryption for exchange data. Also, Exchange servers can force users to enter a pin before accessing data, and have the ability to remote wipe. These are all Exchange Active-Sync policies for mobile phones. Not much different than what the BB has.

All of this (from an admin’s POV) is controlled from the Exchange Server, so it’s not really all that difficult to manage from a Sys Admin’s perspective.

false. president, both vp’s, and a bunch of us engineers have iphones from the company. there is a ton of security features of it and with MobileMe you can remote wipe, locate, lock, send messages to, etc. ontop of the Exchange encryption.

i know i personally send 20-50 emails a day with it and 100-200 texts. it a great phone.

everyone has their preferences with touch screen, hard keys. I can text faster than someone with T9 or a BB with my iPhone and can’t stand the BB OS.

What company?

i know many CEOs and VP that have Iphones, I don’t know what that proves.

Its not like having a BB makes you and Executive, or having an Iphone makes you look less professional.

I know many of execs from all over the country, majority of them have BBs, but I do come across some that have Iphones and they usually make it a point to talk about how cool their Iphone is, that’s usually the point I stop listening.
