if you were in my position:

evos r gay dont buy 1

Finish the Fucus bro. mad unique!

Has anyone made an AWD Focus before? If the answer is no, your estimates for time and money are probably off base. I would fix the Focus so there are no quirks in the existing setup. Then, probably drive it for a couple seasons before upgrading to a different platform. It really comes down to your confindence level with your current finances. Could you pay for a more expensive car if you lost your job for a couple months?

Edit: Scanned these for you…

I agree

import a Cosworth Escort

honestly man do the work it would be stupid different dont do ur gay old grafics though. stis and evos r over played now its not different. i usually see atleast one a day and its not tkkleman at starbucks lol

honestly it all depends if you want to buy a car, drive it and not worry about it

or

modify a highly tuned aftermarket car with the constant fear things might break or not go how you planned but at the same time drive a very unique and cool car that no one has

if you can answer that you will know what direction you want to go

^hahaha the second one sounds really bad, even though thats totally my personality. which is why the volvo is my first choice if i sell for something new. importing a cosworth will cost me at least $30k, plus i will want to mod the crap outta it, and i dont even know where to begin with that car, ive read all the euro companies that make aftermarket parts for it and their terminology is so different i dont know what to buy.

Yes. Several years of rally cars of produced. Would this be affordable for somebody to try to duplicate? Probably not, but I bet the parts are out there somewhere in order to make it possible, without cobbling together a setup from other OTS Ford parts. If I was serious about building an AWD Focus, the WRC version is the first place I’d look for info…

I think you need to revise your estimates upwards… BY ALOT.

For a glimpse of what you would be getting yourself into. (an interesting read, even if you didn’t want to do it)

^^already read all of that, the WRC parts are compelety custom, and so is the car…none of the parts would work, and it would cost $200k. ford racing made ONE kit, for a SEMA show car, i know who has it since they parted the car out, and i know what parts were used (subframes moddified off an escape, and the tranny/diff.s from a jag x-type) and i have priced those parts out at roughly $4-5k

Well, I guess you’ve done your homework then.

yep, if i find a sponsor(s) to fund making it, i will by all means, but for me to spend that kind of money is not worth it, so if i cant get sponsors to do it, ill be riding it boosted on stock internals until i save for a new car, leaning toward the volvo

couldnt have said it better myself Mike. :lolham: Now you’re really starting to sound like me Nick. Should I do this … yeah that sounds good … a few days later … nah I’m gonna go this route … MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY BUDDY!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I like the AWD idea, i love my sti but i like the GC imprezas better, the sti swapped GC would definitely be my second favorite idea. I agree that there are a butt load of evos and stis around but shit the focus would be so unique i would love a ride in that bad boy if you did it.

you can bet your ass if i can get teh resources to do the AWD focus, i would, and would be willing to give rides, ill let ya know
