illest / fatlace has been a joke ever since EVERY car that doesn’t back up the style of illest or fatlace (of very properly fitting wheels) has had a sticker on their car or a fake illest sticker, at that.
This degrades the RWB style in my eyes.
Don’t give 2 shits about illest/fatlace culture/style… all I know is those headphones are ugly as fuck.
RWB appears once in that entire article.

I don’t think is a RWB endorsing beats thing. Seems to be more that fatlace have a car coming out to coincide with release of the headphones.

I, for one am actually really dissapointed. Agreed with the Nakai-san, having a stroke on this one. I can only base this opinion off of the numerous videos and interviews I’ve seen him and understand his style and the way he thinks. Agreed, Liam ; RWB is indeed degraded with the Fatlace shit.
Fatlace/Illest is a double-edged sword for me, it’s not that I don’t agree with their goals or styles it’s more so the reaction and how their audience have replied and reflected. At the end of the day, to each their own. Fatlace/Illest has both made the car scene thrive as well as fail in a lot of sense.
doesn’t help some shitty sounding headphones look even shittier now.

I’m tired of RWB cars, fatlace killed that off for me. Dre beats are super shitty and sound like shit.
BUT
Fatlace still knows what’s up, got a tour of the fatlace paddock while I was in SF and saw their rocket bunny FRS and this being put together…
I still respect fatlace but they sold out long ago, crossing paths with another sell out like Dre isn’t any surprise.
“Selling out” I think is an interesting discussion topic. (Whether it be Fatlace or Dr.Dre)
From the audience/fan base: It sucks, they’re not as cool anymore. They lose some respect and their reputation is tarnished.
From the “sell out’s” side: It gives you a chance to grow, you benefit from sponsors to help you progress in your goals? I mean, if someone offered you a $100 000 contract or something, would you pass it up because “you’re too cool” ? People need sponsors (unless you’re filthy rich to begin with or you’re fortunate enough to have an amazing business) , sponsors need reputable people.

Not at all, anyone here that says they wouldn’t take a pick pile of cash to run some stickers or paint the car a certain way is nuts.
But crossing the border between big money company and another big money company is just marketing. Now all the hip hop hipsters that weren’t aware of illest/fatlace will be shown the brand.
It’s not like fatlace never had ties to hip hop and their cultures. It originally started as a store selling local SF hip hop and “urban” clothing.
Don’t like them, but respect their style and Japanese Urban tastes. To me personally, Fatlace/Illest is like Apple. People that don’t know shit about shit will ride that wagon like blind sheep.
