I'm downright f'ing giddy!!!

fatwood says hi
(fatwood, batwood, ratwood… weh have lots of these words :D)

 He was known as batwood around here, since that was his email address.

Joe took my notice quite well. Told me Congratulations I deserve it and what not. Two weeks of busting my nuts to leave on good terms, then on to something that aligns better with my career goals! Haha better log off of NYSpeed!

First day was today. Holy shit am I overwhelmed. They have so many tools, policies, and procedures for improving productivity to deal with that I don’t know how anyone ever gets anything done! :jawdrop:

I’m actually really pumped and like it a lot, but sweet Jesus I am in a whole new world now.

yay james!

There was a red Jetta following me on Erie yesterday. I thought for a second it was you, then I remembered you don’t work down the way anymore.

Ahh, nothing like a whiskey on the rocks to wash away that “How the fuck am I going to add value here?” feeling.

Yeah, now instead of a 6 mile commute up NFB I have a 3 mile commute down Sheridan. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m slowly working my way towards working at home. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anybody else work at big companies? How long did it take you to really feel comfortable? I’m not really intimidated as I’m still confident that long-term I’m going to pwn this place hard. I think it’s more just that I’m not used to having to learn policy, procedure, and all those other big company tools before I can get down to business.

At OGSI it was “Here’s your desk. We sold 6 machines to customers that make 20 SCFH of oxygen at 90 psi… We’ve never built anything like that… Go.”

At Praxair it’s “Here’s your desk, your laptop, your 1” thick benefits package, you need to register for this, this, this, this, this, and this; Log on to that, that, that, and that. Familiarize yourself with this, that, and the other thing. In order to do this you’re going to need access to that. Talk to her about getting this. Go through this new hire handbook and star all the things you we need to cover today…" and on and on and on…
