Hi everyone. This is a current repair we are doing at vo-tech(yes im still in high school). Its my cousins '89 240.he picked the car up for 500 bucks. It was a southern car so it is pretty solid. No rust. The person he bought it off of side swiped a telephone pole so we are replacing the quarter and door.Oh yeah and the nice thing about vo-tech is you only gotta pay for the materials(and hope to god whoever is workin on your car knows what they are doing)This is what we started with.
starting to disassemble the car
got the pics to work^^
Are you the guys that take people’s cars and do paintjobs on them for free so you can get experience?
we don’t do them for free but the customer only has to pay for materials(paint,…etc.)
You guys provide the paint and we pay for it? How much does that usually cost?
Drop me a PM if you’re looking for a donor car…
depending on what type of paint you use to get a whole car repainted it should cost a couple hundred bucks.Unfortunately, we have enough cars to last us the rest of this school year
today we put the car on a frame machine and pulled out some of the quarter, we then started to “snap” the spot welds around the wheel well instead of drilling them out.
finally just about completed the car… Here are some updated pics. This is when we were ready to prime it and all of the body work was finished
Here its primed, blocked, and ready for some paint
There it is!!
I’d say it looks decent for my first time painting something that big and swappin quarters.(thats not me in the car)It was single staged.
