In the 90s the 1986-1987 buick grand nationals were alot quicker than most cars on the streets. The first one i owned ran 8.60 in the 1/8 and it was stock.
However in the 90s i had a 1965 plymouth belvedere 4door with a stock 440 in it and was wiping up mild built mustangs and camaros.Needless to say they were usually pissed they got spanked by an old lady car.
You obviously know little about the engine. I will leave it at that.
I hate when people talk 1/8th mile speeds, only rednecks care about that.
Multiply it by 1.55
Irrelevant to the OP’s first question. Nobody “built” S6’s back in 1995. I don’t care what sort of potential there was in it back then, or now. People didn’t pull engines and have them bored/stroked or install big turbo kits on cars back in 1995. If you wanted a car to go street racing with you bought a 5.0.
I don’t care what people were doing, that engine was the one to have.
His first question was about dsms.:gotme:
I was answering the other question.
+1
wait, I did!
His question was this:
Tell me how fast Audi S6’s were back in '95? I don’t recall EVER seeing one at the track or on the street, not that I remember anyways. If they were “the one to have” as you say, how come they didn’t start some revolution like the 5.0 did?
LOL, well you were the rarity! Actually a frined of mine won $5000 at a casino and dumped it into his LX 5.0 convertible. He bought the whole GT40 kit, cam heads, intake, etc…He ran 8.6’s with it.
I would assume the ZR1 was, or a GNX.
Wait that sounds familiar… I dumped some cash into my LX 5.0 vert and ran 7.4’s
GNX
Was it white with a white leather interior?
People that live near eigth mile tracks use them.If it helps you that would be around a 13.4 in the quarter.
Yep
I stand corrected, people who use 1/8th mile times to calculate 1/4 times are worse.
I wonder what happened to all the Mustangs around here 2002 or so Mighty was packeddddd with 5.0s
They don’t age too well
Yeah for sure.
0-60 5 sec
1/4 mile 13.9
.99 lateral G
Plus the interior is way better than any of the other cars mentioned and the body style is ageless. Lol @ the mustang suggestions. Those cars look and handle like they were made in the 80s.
